We just returned from a 6 day trip from VA to western NY and back. TCs are rare in this part of the country, at least compared to other types of RVs, so I always point them all out to my wife when we travel. She now notices them and points them out to me first some times. Normally when we make this trip I might see from 0 to 5. On this trip we saw at least 15 to 20. Not only driving but I saw two 18 wheelers transporting several new Lances.I stopped in at Keystone RV in PA. They're an Arctic Fox dealer but usually have none in inventory. They not only had a few this time but a customer was there with a TC too. I parked right beside him. The salesman told me they were going to be a dealer for Chalet also. He said they already sold 2 and should have one in inventory soon.Maybe this type of RV is seeing an increase in popularity on the east coast. They certainly were this past week.

We bought our TC from Keystone. Hours away from us, still the closest option.TC's seem rare in PA - but every time we've stayed overnight at a campground there's always at least one other TC there (along with the 20 trailers/ motorhomes).

Last year when I was driving from New Jersey back to California, I saw maybe 5 Truck campers on the route I took, I-80, to I-94. Once I hit Montana, from there to Washington, Oregon and back home I saw at least 50 Truck campers. I had mainly seen Motorhomes and Pickups with Fifth Wheels and Trailers.Bob

Yep, truck campers have always been very popular here in the Pacific NW.

If you want to see truck campers on the east coast, head to Assateague Island National Seashore..

Same thing at big antique car flea markets. We will be heading to the big AACA Fall meet in Hershey PA in October. 10,000+ spaces. Truck campers are everywhere from new to very old.

To my way of thinking, T/C is the best option for two, or small family of three or four, to get out there and still be able to bring their boat or other trailerable toys along. People just get too used to having their 'home comforts' along with them. Personally, that's the 'stuff' that I look forward to leaving behind when I leave the driveway.

Just my two cents worth.

Same Thing in Florida, Not many of us TC owners down here. My wife and I can usually count on one hand the number of TC's on a trip in the SouthEast. We try and indentify where they are from. We do enjoy and go to Tractor Shows, they usually have a larger amount of TC's

We spent the last two weeks of August at the state campground in Assateaque. We saw plenty going in/out of the National Park on a daily basis,of course more on the weekends but all week, a steady stream. I believe we counted ten or eleven in the State, most I've seen in our five years of TCing.

We camped at Joe Wheeler State Park in Alabama over the holiday weekend. They have many campsites that were all full. We were the only truck camper. I think I like that.

TC's are becoming more popular on the East Coast...I know, I just added one more to the herd. Other then being built on the West Coast, I can't understand why there aren't more. With our cold weather and the versatility of the TC to stand colder climates (our Class-C couldn't stand for the cold), you'd think they'd be more popular here. I hope it's a new trend.
