My son is looking to purchase a 2018 or 2019 Winnebago Micro Minnie and curious what % off the MSRP should he shoot for. This is our first venture into the New RV Arena. Thanks Ed

Hard part in many cases is knowing if the listed MSRP is inflated to start with. And making sure you are comparing prices of similarily equipped models.

If you know what brand and model you want, go price shopping on line. Find a bunch of dealerships and sales listings for the model. Go to the particular brands owners forums and send private messages to those that already own one. Once you become aware of what the general price is, then shoot for that total.

And some dealerships are more price competitive if you are willing to travel to get it. But then you have to figure in the travel costs.

I've only researched the fifth wheel market. I can tell you with no doubt the RV show prices are not the bottom line number.

I got 35% off of mines. I watched and waited for the 2017 to arrive on the lots, and since there were no changes with the 2016 sitting next to them, I got a deal...and a second A/C was included.

Check out RVTrader for an idea on pricing. I have seen 10,000 dollar differences on small units like the Kodiak 175, or at least posted prices. It will give you and idea. I have a stripped down version of the Kodiak called an Aspen Trail 1700BH and even there, I have seen 5K differences in pricing. Of interest is that the further we get into the summer, the pricing is closing the ranges and moving slightly lower, in general with distinctions between 18's and 19's. The 18's will generally be lower. Just anecdotal observations. Oh, and sometimes there are differences in the units even of the same name by year.

25 to 35 percent seems to be the generally accepted number. However exactly what or who determines what their MSRP is?
