What is the best made travel trailer

Just a quick question. My wife and I have progressed over the years from travel trailer to fifth wheel and now we currently have a 40' diesel pusher motor home. I personally think that the big, fancy motor home has taken the fun out of camping but my wife likes the bling. With that said, I would like to talk her into downsizing but I would have to show her a very nice trailer to possibly get her attention. I currently own a 2011 Toyota tundra that has a tow capacity of approx. 10,000 pounds. I'm just tired of maintaining another vehicle. I have never put more than 2,500 miles in a year on the motor home and i mostly stay in new england. If I go back to a trailer, I can haul bikes, wood and kayaks in the bed or on the roof of my pickup. So with that said, hypothetically, what would be a nicely built travel trailer if I was to trade down? Ps, I would go back to a fifthwheel but then I would have to change trucks also. We both have 10 more years before we could retire and actually use the function of the motor home. Thank you in advanced.

    Eleven years and thousands of miles, many of them desert dirt road, my 02 Sunnybrook 26CKS, Gell coat, end caps. Not one issue at all with structure. Can't get a new TT till I find a better one than this one. Headed to the RV show in Pomona in Oct but not expecting to see "the one".
    Not to hi-jack the thread but a sticky with all TT mfg that are still building would be nice.

    Good question and the RV industry indeed is guilty of poor mfg quality. I have experienced in the 25 plus years of extensive use many issues from cabinets falling off in a Winnebago,floors warping on a 50k Airstream, delamination on a forest river/ winnebago, and leaks in all of them mostly due to poor roofing material.

    Currently testing a 16 db from livin lite. These guys are on to the way they all should be built. First, no wood, anywhere. Second a more minimalistic approach yields greater reliability over the long term. So far with over 8 months of use, 2 cross country trips and leaving for another, the damn thing is bullet proof.

    I am past the test stage, looking at the new 21. Stay tuned.

    I have a prime time lacrosse by forest river and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It has leaked every time it has rained since we bought it. Also don't buy from Tom Raper rv. There service sucks!!!!!

    I agree with H&E about the Forest River line. My wife and I bought a 2013 Rockwood 26' TT. Nothing but problems with it. I may have to towing issue figured out, time will tell. The electric stabilizer jacks are worthless. I can level the trailer out and when I run the slides out, the trailer will drop 3 to 4 inches on that side. With a sat dish, as soon as you start to walk, you loose reception it moves that much. Not a big fan of Rockwood.

    We had a Nash and I think that was the best trailer that we have owned out of the six that we have had over the years. The only draw back was it weighed 8300 dry. Never had a issue with it. Only reason we sold is that we did not need the bunk beds. In laws had a Arctic Fox 5th wheel and loved it. So I would say a Arctic Fox or Nash.

    Show her an Airstream. If that does not do it for her nothing in the travel trailer world will.



    My wife won't even stay on a site beside an Airstream. So if I were to suggest getting an Airstream she would probably stop camping and the Hilton here we come. :B

    Make sure she likes the look of Airstreams because even though a lot of people think they are the cream not all do.

    And honey if you read this I will not make you look at one.

    We have a Forest River TT and would never purchase another Forest River Product. Had we seen an Artic Fox we would have one. There are no Artic Fox dealers in our area. Air Stream is too small and expensive for what you get.

    Big foot travel trailers. All fiberglass, 5 star rating rv consumer group. But expensive!!!!

    When we began looking for an RV we decided on a TT as opposed to a motorhome, too many systems, that we had been maintaining on a boat for too many decades or a Fiver. I wanted the bed of the truck free of the hitch.
    Looked for the BEST, narrowed the search to Artic Fox and Airstream then found the Ever Lite by EVERGREEN and that is what we purchased. A 31 but after 3 years and 35,000 miles we are seriously thinking of going SMALLER as in a 26 or so. We like the no wood construction and all aluminum welded frame.
    Note that some of the other Evergreen lines have wood in the construction but still have composits.
