Can anyone tell me what is the function of the mirror that can be seen in the first post of this TC? It is hanging from the cabover. I can't see how it was used to load the camper into the truck.
It wasn't used to load the camper in the truck.
It was used to see behind you as you drove down the road. Bet the view is great. Just gotta watch for low-hanging branches... - mkirschNomad II

That's because it's all a big LIE, a conspiracy to sell you more expensive trucks. We're all in on it. - deloshollyExplorerCan anyone tell me what is the function of the mirror that can be seen in the first post of this TC? It is hanging from the cabover. - dakonthemountaiExplorerMy neighbor purchased on a couple years ago to re-furbish, though he hasn't had a chance to because he had to do a lot of work on his truck first. I think they are totally cool!
As a side note.. Why is it that when people post things like this for sale they can't even bother to take out all the trash and clean it up a bit? Lazy I suppose, but it would make it MUCH more sale-able if they did! Just a little commentary.... ;)
Dak - gitpicker2009Explorerwow! very advanced looking for it's time. notice the aerodynamic corners and edges. Very cool rig.
- Sue_BeeExplorerhere is the original listing.
the pictures aren't very good, but looks to be in decent shape. Hard to tell.
and whoever buys it should get this to carry it.
Just a serving suggestion :) - GoinThisAwayExplorerHere's one I saw on Craigslist up in the northeast: American Road camper Hope whoever gets it values it as a neat an unique unit worth preserving.

- exhaustipatedExplorerThat Ford American Road Camper is a nifty looking rig. It's too bad that only 825-850 were made from '73 to '74 before they stopped making them. The interior looks kind of cool also. It sure would be nice if someone buys this thing and restore it back to original.
