What should I stay away from?

#2. Class action law suits take even loooooooooooooooooooooger.
#3. Many times there is a muzzle clause after a settlement.

That really doesn't make sense. If one owns a 6.0 and the outcome was that Ford would be held responsible for the repairs to these engines ( fat chance) . That is why the outcome is something for a guy like me and many others to "care about".Just saying. Life is Good.

Let me throw out a few facts and a few questions for you.

#1. What caused two big companies with a great working relationship to split the sheets?

#2. What product caused two big companies to start suing each other?

#3. What caused FMC way, way, way over a billion dollars in warrantee repairs. (That is with a B.)

#4. What product caused a lot of mom and pop mechanics to go into business for themselves and come up with names like "bulletproofing and fixing what the factory should have done?"

#7. What Ford engine accounted for "approximately 80% of all of Ford's warranty spending on engines during that time period?

#8. What caused the highest ranking Ford personal to make statements like: "in my 32 years at Ford I have not experienced such (negative) feedback regarding one of our products."?

Answer these questions and be honest with yourself and you may see that it makes no difference of the outcome of the suit. :)

Okay all ready . If you want me to say I give, I give. I think ,JMHO, that even though these motors have their justified history of poor reliability ,I personally think that the out come of a law suit would "make sense". If you disagree , I will agree with you, okay? I think some people buy diesels and drive them like gassers ( short trips , no warm ups , no cool downs, etc.) I feel any diesel engine would suffer from that type of "driving" .This is not an excuse for the 6.0, but just an observation.But , I will graciously accept your opinion about "law suits" make no sense and thank you for your educated and historical contribution . I am sorry also to the original poster for side baring on their post and will no longer . Life is Good.

I got news for you all, sheet metal will be thinner for all new vehicles as automakers attempt to shed weight. I have never had an issue with a vehicles sheet metal being to thin.

Power wise the 2007 Tundra was ahead of the Big 3.

IIRC the new 2015 F150 is supposedly going to have some aluminum panels.

I know, way down on the cool factor but there are a lot of E350s and E250s out there for a LOT less than a comparable truck.

Don't rule out Suburbans either.

I'd say to look at Excursions too, but the folks I know that have them wouldn't part with them cheap.

I can't hardly find an 07 and up Tundra for less than 18-20k around her.. they really are proud of them for some reason.
