Where to dispose used motor oil?

Well in IL it is easy to find a place. I take mine into Wally World when my 5 gallon container gets full.

Most town will have a disposal area. You may need to call city hall. We live in a small town of about 10,000 and have a disposal station. When we were in the Farm Equipment business there was a company out of Amarillo Tx that paid us for used oil. Then it went to we will pick it up no pay then we had to pay to get it picked up. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a place.

Every dump (or county refuse collection site) in FL that I've ever seen has a place to dump used motor oil, leave paint cans, or drop off batteries.

Many O'Reilly auto parts takes used oil.

Not sure in FL but in CA many places where you buy your motor oil accepts used oil. And as others have stated there are hazardous waste stations that accept it. I use the hazardous waste or Autozone when I need to dispose of it. JMO

Dump it on the manure spreader so it won't freeze this winter or spread it under the electric fence so the weeds grow up to the wire.

I do the same as DAVE H M does. When my used oil can gets full I can take it to the county dump site that has a used oil container. Our local auto parts stores also accepts used oil...

Sometimes my son-in-law wants it because he knows I change my oil on a regular basis. He claims he can get a few thousand more miles out of my recycled oil hehe...

What? That's what RoundUp is for. Eventually that oil and all its contaminants will enter the water table.

OP - Just about any Walmart, Oreilly, Autozone, or Advanced Auto Parts will take it.

Taking used oil: Walmart; Autozone; Advance Auto; Recycle unit at landfill or transfer station; NAPA Autoparts.
