Which mount for Swivel TV Cabinet???

Ok, the wife bought a flat screen TV larger then the swivel TV cabinet. Which if fine with me as the swivel feature of the cabinet was not going to be used anyway.

What TV mount do you all recommend so the TV can mount and reside outside the opening of the swivel cabinet?

I also thought about spinning the cabinet so the flat portion of the cabinet is facing out. Then using a fixed mount at that point.

Thoughts?
  • You might look at MOR/ryde to see if they have anything that will do the job. I bought a wall mount for our TV in the bedroom and found it to be well designed and built.
  • My TV was too big to fit into the cabinet also. I build up the back of the mount so that the tilt/swivel mount would extend outward and point down.

When the TV was pushed back against the hole, I put Teflon tabs on the wall on both sides. With the TV back to the cabinet, the tabs would come down and hold the edges of the TV in place.

In another install I used a wide Velcro strap that went top and bottom. Unzip the Velcro, pull the TV out. I had the DW sew the wide strip of Velcro onto a colorful sturdy cloth and fed it all the way around. The piece behind the TV was securely clamped and screwed in place.

Sounds like a good solution. If you have any pictures to post, I would appreciate it.
