Who checks their oil?
After doing an oil change? Do ya dump in the reccomended amount of oil, put the cap on, slam the hood down and takeoff? Or do you check to make sure it reads right on the dipschtick?

The whole point of this thread , other than to see if I can be like the big dawgs here and get 10 pages in a couple days, lol, was to take something as simple as changing your own oil.
You know how much it takes. You drained the oil. Of course check for leaks, but even that’s not really a thing. I’d say check you tightened both the filter and the plug and your old filter still has it’s gasket.
Now you fill a pre set amount. Why check it? Maybe it’s not level or maybe the oil hasn’t all drained down. And maybe just maybe the engine doesn’t care if it’s a qt high or qt low.
Just like this, we all have our little inequities and unless there’s a real reason behind it, doesn’t mean your right....or wrong just becuz you doo it!
