who makes an ultralight with 30" door?

I'm looing for a bunkhouse type travel trailer with a queen and bunks something like the 240BHS Spree from KZ. They have a 30" door which my son's pedi wheelchair will fit through -- barely. There isn't a KZ dealer nearby and I hate to be forced to buy at a specific model because that's the ONLY one. I'd like to have some options in both new and used...

Are there any other make/models that are EASY 1/2 ton towable 5-6K lbs out there that you know of that can compete? Obviously >30" would be fantastic but I suspect in such tight spaces, that isn't going to happen.

Lastly, it has to have a slide that opens most of the depth of the dining or sofa area as I need the space to move a small wheelchair about.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thank you to those of you that provided some leads on good used units. I've found a couple of used units and I'm seriously considering one or the other. The first is a 2014 30QBSS Salem which has bunks in the rear, a super slide, and is pretty much like new. They say they camped twice. It looks more like never. The second is a 267BHS Jayco Jay Flight Swift. Both have a 30" entry door and a super slide and the layout is pretty much identical. The salem appears a bit heaver duty and it should as it weighs almost 2000lbs more. I wouldn't be able to regularly tow it with my F150 5.4L Tow Package vehcile even with a disty hitch. I could probably get it to the ranch where it will stay, but I'd probably just rent a tow vehicle for the day. The Jayco is a 2013 unit and while excellent condition shows some use. The Jayco also has a 30" door and a super slide. Both are similarly equipped. The Jayco weighs a whole lot less, though, and I could tow it to an alternate location if so desired... Any experience with these two units? The owner of the Jayco wants 14,500 and includes a distribution hitch and the owner of the salem wants 16K. It has a couple of upgrades like a 15K AC but nothing much beyond that as it came stock with a pretty good package.

As a former KZ Spree owner I know that KZ used to offer several rear glide models in the Spree lineup a few years ago. One of those models, the KZ Spree 289KS was sold with either 4 bunk beds at the front OR with an optional swing down queen bed plus a large cargo door that lowered to become a ramp. The idea was you could use it to easily load anything from bikes to a quad to wheelchairs to whatever into the trailer using the ramp yet still otherwise use that area for sleeping. IIRC it came with a swing down queen bed but that could easily be changed to accommodate mutiple single beds as well while still retaining the advantage of the ramp door. KZ built this model in both versions and I can't say how many of each but certainly they'd be out there now in the used market.

Aron, Thanks! I looked at one. It's too narrow to get to the dinette unfortunately. That with the dinette in a slide would be in my possession. I'll keep looking.

The Keystone Outback 240URS might work for you. Should be towable by a half-ton, it has a smaller ramp door on the side next to the main door so that your son doesn't feel like an outcast being sent to the "back of the bus", and plenty of room for him to maneuver into bed. The only real problem looks to be that the dinette and couch area are kind of cramped, so that may limit maneuverability. But the front bunk area appears big enough to set up a separate accessible table.

I agree with the toyhauler recommendation. These Jayco White Hawks might suit your needs too.

You could always go the route of a toy hauler. Then you'll have a giant garage door for your son to get through. I've considered a toy hauler, even though I have no big toys, just to take advantage of using the garage as a hang out space when tailgating or a spot to throw bikes, kayaks/canoes, etc... I especially like the toy haulers that use the garage door as a deck/patio area.

Thanks and I have called a few and they aren't very knowledgeable on the exact width as I guess most people don't care. That said, I'd like to have some options on used as well and they sure as heck won't tell me which used models might have those features if they don't have it in stock and the manufacturers want to only sell a new one. I hate to pay for something new if it's going to depreciate so much.

Example: 2016 spree 240bhs - local dealer quoting about 29K. I saw one on "clearance" for 21K four states away. assume that's a best case scenario.

There are 2 240BHS within 2 hours of me and both are "like new". One 2013 and one 2014. They want 13k and 14K, respectively. The problem is that they didn't start using 30" doors on this model until 2016. It took a ton of time just to find out on this one model. Was hoping there were other options I might look at to avoid taking the new retail to used value hit in the first 3 years.

Talk to some dealers and manufacturers , I am sure they can put a larger door on a trailer
