winterizing hose too short

I bought a Camco winterizing kit with the by pass valve and an included clear tube to go into the coolant jug. However, the hose is about 12" too short. I need to extend this hose out, but the fitting that goes into the valve doesn't easily allow this. So, in the picture below, do you think I could cut the collar off and insert a new hose and simply tighten it on with a hose clamp? That collar can turn independently of the nut.

Thanks.

  • just buy another section of hose and splice them together.
  • Take it to a hardware store and buy some fittings to enable you to extend the hose.
  • I remove and use the shower hose. Always there and plenty long.
  • yep just put a coupler of some kind on the rough cut end and more hose
  • go to the irrigation section and get a double connector and buy some more hose the same diameter as in the kit and connect the two hoses, couldn't be more simple as that.
  • Presumably, the other end of the hose is the cut end with no fittings? If you buy some clear tubing slightly smaller in diameter, it will fit right in. I did this on my water fill device.
  • Just buy another flexible lavatory supply tube and connect the two ends with a 1/2" threaded nipple.
  • You probably could buy a longer hose at LOwe's or Home Depot
