Short water line (plastic hose)

Sportsman 28 footer1LRSS.
Inside front storage box adjacent to where outside water hook
up is located , I have short 2-2.5 ft piece of hose,

has no fitting on the end

It's attached to the various water lines, where 12 volt pump is located has an in line off on shut off valve.
I may need to post a picture to clearify exactly
What I'm describing.

Thinking possibly a way to pump antifreeze
Into the unit? Will provide a pic, thanks

  • Don't you just love the idea of having an open ended hose laying on the floor of a dirty storage compartment, collecting dirt and spiders, and then sucking the filth into the fresh water system? I routed mine to a tee behind the city water inlet.
  • Every one we have had is one valve. One way opens one side, the other way opens the other side.
  • Ditto, but need to add that you also have to turn off the valve going to the fresh water tank, or the pump will suck air instead of antifreeze.

Exactly, and you will see a valve probably where that hose screws into the plumbing system. Turn it from its position now and the pump will pick up the antifreeze and pump it through the system.
  • Sounds like a siphon hose for winterizing.
The end sticks into a jub of RV antifreeze and gets sucked up with pump.
Here is sample from Valterra kit
  • Post a picture, if it is on the tank side of the pump, it is probably an winterizing connection. Drain system, turn valve, stick end of line in antifreeze jug, and open each faucet till pink stuff comes out. Mine usually takes two people, one of us to wahch and replace the jug, and the other inside to open and watch the faucets. Refer to other posts for winterizing full instructions.
