The only time I have seen a panel replaced is one of the end Fan panels. Anytime one of the other panels has been damaged thatI have seen, they put the new one over the top of the old one.
On mine for the tub I plan to use styrofoam sheets slightly undersized for the opening then use closed cell spray foam around the edges to seal them in place. For the shell closed cell spray foam.
