Find a local radio club in your area. They'll be able to aid you in becoming a Ham. Good Luck,Re: New to Rv - questions about RV parking outside of campgroundWe put reflective tape on the sides of our slides. When they are out you can see the tape. This way others know we are wider than our main body.Re: Is anyone making small (<30') Class A diesels? We purchased a 2008 Class A, last fall. We previously had a 2005 Class C at 29 feet. Now we have a 38 foot deasil. We didn't want an RV that big. The C's have a weak frame. The new shorter A's frames aren't much better. Our A is a Freightliner frame. This frame is built like a tank. I wish it was shorter. Though the ride is great and worth it.Rear ladder replacementI'm in need of a new/used rear ladder for my 2008 Damon Astoria. Any ideas?Re: How many Ham checkins next 24 hoursHello from FN23hx 73 Beau N1MJDRe: Gas vs dieselsThis past October we decided to upscale our C to an A gas. I was looking for a Gas A and NOT a DP. While looking we found a 2008 Damon Astoria diesel. It only had 3800 miles on it. After a test drive which included an overnight. I was sold. The DP pros that others have mentioned are all true. The upkeep is a wash because of the greater mileage between doing services. The differences between a DP and a gas A are night and day. I guess what I'm trying to say is, shop with an open mind. BeauRe: Is Motorhome Magazine any good? GS RV Travel/Saving guide?I purchased, using the Good Sam discount, two year plus extra issues subscription for $20. Not a bad deal. We just upgraded from a Class C to a Class A diesel. Needing all the info we can gain. We are also Family Campers magazine readers.Re: Best MotorhomesIt's a 2008 Damon Astoria PacificRe: Best MotorhomesWe just purchased a Damon Astoria 38 feet, 3 slides and very low mileage.Re: Traveling with DogsWe camp with 5 to 10 Samoyed sleddogs. [edited] OMG, that is serious fur. We had a Norwegian elkhound and one was pretty serious shedding! Oh yes, lots of undercoat. Its a good thing the wife spins it into yarn. You can never get it "entirely" out of the RV
