I replaced the Ford fully synthetic lubricant with another brand of fully synthetic lubricant. My brother-in-law was towing a similar trailer with a similar truck with standard differential cover and synthetic ford lubricant. I had checked both differential covers while I was using my stock for cover and the temperatures were very close. After the installation of the aftermarket aluminum cover I only saw about a 10 to 15° drop in temperature. I know it's not scientific research but it's my findings for what it's worth. The main reason I installed it was ease of changing gear lube.Re: My first post. Hershey RV show question. jfskeet wrote: We always attend the Hershey show just to look around and maybe pick up accessories. When we were looking in 2014 for a class A, we saw one we liked but was from a dealer a distance away from us. Our local dealer was at show and ask him, why he didn't have any of the class A,s we were interested in. He said he was't allowed to have them there, another dealer had the rights. We told him what we liked and were thinking we were going to purchase from other dealer because of all the "special deals they were offering" He said don't worry, I will beat the show price, he sat down and figured it out and he did just hat. So show price isn't always that special.!!! I agree. But if you had not been at the show it might not have been that easy to negotiate a good price. While at Hershey we were able to negotiate a price that was lower that the show price. The show price gave us a better starting price. Just my opinion.Re: My first post. Hershey RV show question. My experience was different. We went to Hershey knowing we wanted one of three travel trailers. We were able to see all three. When we were sure what we wanted we ordered a new unit with the options we wanted. We got to show price which was much lower then we were able to get before the show. And they delivered it to a local dealer. Just my experience.Re: National Park TripAvoid the National Parks while school is out. We just returned from our second out west NP trip. If posiable go to the more popular NPs before or after the school summer break. Yosemite was horrible. Extremely crowded. The valley was a big traffic jam every day. Yellowstone seems to be the best managed NP. Lots of people but it's a big park. Get reservations the first day they are available. Enjoy.Re: Best brake pad to handle the weight/heat? Hawk? EBC?I recently replaced my TV (F150) front pads and rotars with HAWK truck/RV pads. We just returned from a 5,500 mile trip to Yosemite and the HAWK pads were a big improvement over the stock pads. So I do disagree with those that say there is no diferance in stock brake pads and aftermarket units. This is not an exact answer to your question but it is my personal experience.Re: Dutchmen TTI'm pleased with my Coleman. Made by Dutchman. I have no reason to not buy another one if the need came up.Re: Dash cam recommendations needed.OP here. I ended up getting a Thinkware F750. So far I like it. There is not a viewing screen. You use WIFI connection to you phone or tablet. No internet is needed. It connects using WIFI like Bluetooth connections work. There are lots of reviews available for this unit.Re: Dash cam recommendations needed.COBRA will not work with IPads. I spent a hour with an Apple pro and the Cobra App is not compatible with the newer IOS. Their app has not been updated in over two years. You can use a computer but not an IPad. So I wasted about four hours of my life to find out that Cobra is not supporting their products like I would think they would. Thankfully COSTCO has a great return policy. The search continues.Re: Dash cam recommendations needed. STBRetired wrote: I have the FaslconZero mentioned by ThomBoles. Been very happy with it. I replaced the 32 GB memory card that came with it with a 64 GB card. You can replay video on the camera but the screen is pretty small. Uses USB to offload videos, so is not an issue on my MacBook, but will be a problem for iPads and iPhones. I am finding that using only iPads only (no computer) is creating a real problem.
