May be hard to find now, as they are selling windows 10. There is a way to use an upgrade version, but it is not pleasant to do. I can tell you more if you get stuck there. Only way to tell if the copy is genuine is to look closely at the holograps and label on the packaging. If the holograph does not look real, don't buy. Libre Office is a good free alternate to MS Office. Unless you are a heavy user it should handle all your needs. Some differences in complicated spread sheets, and in document formatting. I am not sure on authentication, by MS seems to know if you are installing on the same machine. I just did three clean installs on the same machine in two days, and there was no problem. It seems that after some months the authentication server drops old details and you could reinstall on a different machine. If all you can find is a Windows 7 new install disk, not OEM, that had been previously used, but is no longer in use give it a try. If it is a genuine copy and authenticates you should be good.Re: Screwed!Mex, this is a tough crowd to help. If you use a standard Philips or Robertson screw driver on the screw in the picture, the head will be damaged. It is not a screw that is meant to be used with different drivers.A damaged head is usually a sign that someone, who did not know what the screw was, tried to use a Philips or a Robertson on it. This type of screw is named Pozidrive, and uses a Pozidrive screwdriver (of course). The Philips screw driver is tapered to a point, while the blade edges on a Pozidrive are parallel to each other. The result is greater torque. You can recognize the Pozidrive by the X in between the slots where the driver fits. If + is where the driver goes, the X in between shows that it is Pozidrive. Your link is good for drivers. They are not commonly available. There are bits that will fit into Pozidrive bits and drivers are usually identified as PZ1 and PZ2. Your link shows the drivers, which are not commonly available. There are also interchangeable bits for power drivers. Thanks for trying to help, in spite of the smart cracks.El Vaqueton Found this slightly used GMC motor home conversion in a scenic location. Looks like a keeper with only slight clean up required.. Bet it doesn't leak. Almost camping time here:BRe: P_C or LaptopFor your home, it depends upon what you want to do with the computer. First decide what programs you want to run and then decide what is best to run them. For the a average person a laptop is sufficient. You can add monitor and keyboard if you wish. But, and it's a big but, if you want to do something like post processing of photos you will want a large monitor, colour calibrated, large hard drives, solid state boot hard drive, possibly dual monitors, graphics video card. This is easier in a desktop unit. Longevity, they are similar before processor and OS will drive you nuts. Apple or PC, again look at what programs you want to run and what it will cost you for the hardware. For the average person doing email and Web surging a five year old computer will be fine if it has the drivers you need. For all others think of what you will be doing. That is why there is such a variety out there. For my main computer I use a tower with good graphics card, ssd, dual hdd, dual monitors for serious work, multiple USB 3 ports. However, 80% of the time, I use a seven inch Android tablet that is over three years old. What may work for one will not necessarily be good for someone else.Re: RVing Drives Me Nuts ---- Electrical IssueBobbi has it correct above. One additional question: are your clearance lights on the left side working? If yes, I would look for a ground problem at the light (I assume you did check the bulb). If no, look for a ground problem where the wiring splits to right and left sides. If you want to do a fast check, connect a length of wire to the frame where there is no paint, and touch the side of the light socket. If the light comes on it is a ground problem. Right and left running lights are common, so if both the running and turn signal work, the problem is in the trailer. Both bulb elements on the good side do work? Even if you don't think it is the problem, replace the bulb on the bad side with one you know is good. I have seen where a broken filament wire in the bulb, touching the other filament wire will cause all sorts of strange things.Re: Built wood step, need to keep mat from movingWhen I built the step I made it the size of the mat and extended the sides and ends a bit higher. That way the lip kept the mat from sliding. Just had to lift it out and give it a shake.Re: Meanwell is here!! greenrvgreen wrote: UPDATE: Fired up the little gennie and plugged in the Meanwell. Voltage at Meanwell studs is 14.40. Voltage at charging clamps with 3 ft of 12awg is 14.40. On a 3-batt bank (103ah) I applied pos and neg to batt 3 and got say 14.20 at batt 3. Measured across all three batts, pos to batt 1 and neg to batt 3, I got 14.10, a tenth of a volt lower. Charging across all three batts and measuring only one, I get the same relationship, one tenth of a volt lower. Can I infer anything? BTW, it runs well on my 450w gennie! All you can infer is that you have small voltage drop in leads. With typical voltmeter specifications, all readings are essential the same. For example, if you check the voltmeter specs it will read +/- one or two counts. Thus 14.1,14.2,14.3are essentially the same.Re: Meanwell is here!!Thanks for asking these questions. It may help improve all of our knowledge. My take, which may be incorrect. The actual adjustment range on a power supply is often greater than the quarantined range to allow for manufacturing variance. Neglecting any voltage drop in the connection leads, the voltage on the battery and the output studs of the power supply will be the same. Basic electric theory sStates they cannot be different. Provided you are not exceeding the output capacity of the power supply, and you don't want to release smoke by doing this, the load and no-good voltage must be within the regulation tolerance of 2%. As the battery charges the current from the power supply will decrease. This is one way you can determine charge rate. Voltage will not be a good indicator on its own. All this presumes the SP200 is an adjustable, regulated power supply without a charge controller. If I read the spec incorrectly, my comments aren't worth the time to read them. I assume it would be used by monitoring charging current and voltage. Adjust the output voltage to give the correct value for stage 1,2 or 3,without exceeding the output current of the power supply. Commercially, the voltage is set at a higher voltage periodically to equalize the cells. Curious what good values would be.Re: Dome light problemAnother possible dumb question. Is there a wall switch for that fixture? I have two fixtures that have both a wall switch and the one on the fixture. One is in the bathroom and the other is by the entry door. Both switches have to be on.Re: Canadian GPS ProblemHave you updated your maps, and do you have coverage for Canada? I just updated my older Novi maps and it is quite good. The new North America maps are large. Require an 8 gig SD card for all of the data. You have the option to load only regions into the GPS. I have a 2014 Ford with Nav. It's maps are good but only as good as the base mapping used. I've seen errors in both Canada and the US. Often this is in new areas where houses and streets did not match original development plans. Depending where you travel you may want to do frequent map updates.
