I'm usually very tired after any holiday weekend and reward myself with a mid-week camping trip shortly after. Planning on going to Yosemite June 6th to the 10th when most people are back to work. ;)Re: Altamont PassGood info. Thanks.Researching batteriesCurious to find out which batteries are the most popular with truck campers. I don't have solar panel or generator. I usually do 3 or 4 nights maximum of dry camping. Thank you for sharing your information!Re: 2015 AF 865The 865 is the floor plan I was shopping for. But no dealerships carried it. They kept telling me that this floorpan is slowly phasing out and I shouldn't consider it. I ended up buying a 811 floor plan which was also very difficult to find in California due to my 8ft bed truck. I ended up buying my 811 at Apache in Oregon, where I used to take my AF fifth wheel for repairs and maintenance all the times. I'm very pleased with my 811, not sure if I could do without the slide out anymore.Re: Hellwig or Roadmaster sway bar?Thank you so much for all your replies. It was very helpful! I have a roadmaster sway bar on order.Hellwig or Roadmaster sway bar?Since my F350 dually doesn't have overload springs:M, I decided to set up my truck with air bags and rancho shocks 9000xl. I am now trying to reduce the side by side sway and I'm considering installing either a hellwig or a roadmaster sway bar for the rear of my truck. What's your opinion on Hellwig versus Roadmaster? Which one would do a better job for my set up? Thank you for sharing your experience!Re: Electric Rear awning on Arctic Fox... need picsGreat post! Thank you for sharing! I own a AF811 and was thinking about upgrading to an electric awning. I usually camp solo and the manual awning is really a pain to use. I'm really disappointed to find out that this upgrade may not possible.Re: Trip Report: Sierra Trout Fishing, Camping and PaddlingNice report Buzzcut1! Thank you for sharing. Glad to hear you love the roadmaster sway bar you've installed. My wife has taken our camper out a few times to visit family. She would never do that with the several travel trailers we've owned in the past. I totally understand. TC are so easy to use and simply perfect for one person. I've had 3 truck campers and 6 trailers to date, getting ready to go back to a TC. People don't meet me very often because I love going way out and camping alone, except for my 3 dogs. If someone shows up within view (even a mile away), I usually leave. I love remote areas. And no, I'm not antisocial, I just love solitude and nature. Oh, and I'm a woman. Awesome! Thank you for sharing. Glad to hear other woman are out there enjoying their TC and nature the same way I do.
