But you probably have them covered.Re: Voice Controlled Travel TrailerA couple of thoughts: - Really just a gimmick - Is it really a good idea to add complexity to a product with marginal quality?Re: What do you want in a campground? We don't really camp. Our 26 travel trailer is sort of our mobile house, so scenery and amenities aren't very important to us. We just like to be near historical sites, museums, or other things we like to do. A big parking lot with hookups and in the middle of the city would be just fine with us. - Easy in and out - quiet - concrete or at least dry pad - reasonably level - full hookups - some separation from others, but mostly value quiet - good, reasonably priced laundry - Some shade in summer, but we mostly camp down south in winter - a place to walk is nice - Did I mention quiet? We often stay at Walmart for a single night on our way somewhere. Frequently find a spot that's quiet, and we couldn't be happier. Watching TV late at night and get a hankering for a key lime yogurt....just stroll in and get it. Stuff we don't care about or want: - pool - clubhouse - activities - scenery / viewRe: Sound like a good deal?144 months?!?!? Are you nuts? You are going to sooooo upside down on that trailer. Is it a good deal? No!Re: Just bought a new Keystone Cougar! What else do I need? You really need an F250.Re: My wife wants to camp in the drivewayThis is an easy one. I would just tell my wife that what she is suggesting is a bit unreasonable, and something I would never do. However, because of my easy-going nature, I won't stand in her way, if it's what she wants to do. I never treat my wife like a child, so if she's interested camping at home in the winter, I assume she's capable of learning how to make it possible, and making the necessary repairs if something goes wrong. Armed with the facts, I'm reasonably certain she'll reach the same, informed decision as me, and leave the trailer in the storage facility where it belongs.Re: Tricks for keeping restless passenger happy while towing? Before any of our trailer trips, we visit the library and get several books on CD. Nothing makes the miles melt away like they do. We make a point of getting books that are easy to follow. Stephen King, even Clive Cussler. On our last trip from Michigan to Gettysburg, PA, by pure coincidence the book we were listening to took place right where we were driving; northwest Pennsylvania, in the fictional town of Barronville, and we drove right by Barronvale. Weird.Re: Interesting leveling blocksHmmmm....nope, i'd pass on that. For easy effective leveling, I haven't seen anything that surpasses the Anderson leveling system.Re: Battery question in conversion camperFor what it's worth, if you buy a sailboat, you're probably going to have at least a couple of lead acid batteries in the cabin with you with no ventilation to the outside.Re: What to expectYou're likely to get a good reply and list here, but I'm to lazy to make you a list, and no longer have mine. But...I made my list by looking at Youtube videos about trailering. Not only do you learn a lot about what you'll be doing in terms of towing, setting up camp, and so on, you'll learn a lot about what items you'll need. We were very successful using this approach. We ended up with a mountain of stuff from Amazon and a couple other sources, and I can say that nothing we got was inappropriate or the wrong thing. Poke around, do an internet search, etc., and you'll probably find a couple of lists, or a forum thread on the same subject. There were a few items we had on our list that we weren't sure if we'd really need, but we've slowly added them as we've discovered that yes, we need them.
