Dewinterizing 2018 Leprechaun
I am dewinterizing my 2018 Leprechaun. All the antifreeze is out; nice clear water. When I turn on the hot water heater, it stays on for only a few seconds. I have put the plug back in. When I turn on a hot water faucet inside the coach, cold water comes out. My guess is that I still have not filled the water heater. This model has all those lovely valves (four of them) in a compartment on the outside .. easy to reach and all. What do I need to do to get water in the water heater and get it hot? My dealer installed a red key type battery disconnect on the chassis battery. When my RV is sitting in the driveway, the red key is sitting in the cab. When I am driving, the red key is turned and visible in the grill. Now, I know this is basic, but ... when I am CAMPING, do I take the red key out, thereby disconnecting? And does it make any difference if I am connected to electric or boon-docking? A bad diode rectifier inside the alternator could be allowing battery voltage to drain back into the alternator when the vehicle is off . The diode should be acting like a one-way valve to allow voltage to charge the battery but if its gone bad, then it allows a two way flow. That could be your problem and its something to eliminate if it is. I have no idea what this means, but I have printed it out and will talk to the fix-it guy. Thanks!796Views0likes0Comments
