When I turn on the hot water heater, it stays on for only a few seconds. I have put the plug back in. When I turn on a hot water faucet inside the coach, cold water comes out. My guess is that I still have not filled the water heater. This model has all those lovely valves (four of them) in a compartment on the outside .. easy to reach and all. What do I need to do to get water in the water heater and get it hot? THANKS!!Re: Red KeyThanks! And the battery is disconnected when the key is NOT in it, right?Re: Convection OvenI have a High Pointe. It turned itself off in the middle of baking cookies. I assumed it blew a fuse, as it wouldn’t turn back on. But it did so the next day. I am glad to know I was baking correctly, even if ineffectively!Convection OvenMy RV has a microwave/convection oven. I am learning to use the convection oven! Do you keep the rack in when convection ovening?... The rack is metal with orange rubber tips on the legs. It raises the food/pan off the glass rotating tray.Red KeyMy dealer installed a red key type battery disconnect on the chassis battery. When my RV is sitting in the driveway, the red key is sitting in the cab. When I am driving, the red key is turned and visible in the grill. Now, I know this is basic, but ... when I am CAMPING, do I take the red key out, thereby disconnecting? And does it make any difference if I am connected to electric or boon-docking? My brain keeps getting a little confused because of the double negative "disconnect" on or off!!Re: Airstream BasecampI have now, thanks!Airstream BasecampLooking for owners of An Airstream Basecamp. When I did a search, it came up with 0!Re: Battery Disconnect ConfusionAh yes, these are good comments. Unfortunately, it was drained in something less than 9 days! Sigh. I am not having fun yet with this new motorhome.Re: Battery Disconnect Confusion Krusty wrote: I would try to figure out what is drawing the battery down and fix that. ie: If you have a dome lamp switch on the dash that controls a dome lamp that has its own remote switch, make sure the dash switch is not left in the on position. How can I do this?Re: Battery Disconnect Confusion bobndot wrote: I just learned something , I just asked someone re your problem. Ask your mechanic to put a clamp volt meter onto the battery feed wire to the alternator . A bad diode rectifier inside the alternator could be allowing battery voltage to drain back into the alternator when the vehicle is off . The diode should be acting like a one-way valve to allow voltage to charge the battery but if its gone bad, then it allows a two way flow. That could be your problem and its something to eliminate if it is. I have no idea what this means, but I have printed it out and will talk to the fix-it guy. Thanks!
