'Freedom Express' model Class C. Owners ???
Greetings. I have a 2008 Coachman Freedom Express 21 QB Model. I absolutely LOVE the layout of the inside ---- very well engineered allowing a HUGE cargo space from the outside : 103 cu. ft. Wish the toilet was easier to sit on for us 6'3" Guys...lol... You sort of have to contort to take care of Business. Ive had very little go wrong with this RV and find it a pleasure to drive. Ive used it over some pretty rough terrain including big sharp stones in the western Arizona Desert . What pluses and minuses have you got if you own a Freedom Express ? Any mechanical troubles with the engine or Coach ??? Thanks for sharing. Dave in N.W. Florida.1.8KViews0likes7CommentsCooper vs Michelin
Hello, I'm looking for input on Cooper Discoverer HT3 tires for my 31' class c on a Ford E450 chassis. I currently run Michelin LTX MS tires on my RV which I put on in 2013. I've recently had both inner dually tires blow out, on two separate occasions. It's time to replace all the tires. I replaced one of the inner tires with a Michelin Defender LTX M/S and the other inner with a Cooper Discoverer HT3 tire. I wasn't able to get a Michelin so I replaced it with a Cooper. I like the performance and handling of the Michelins and I got 16k miles out of them. The Michelins are $80 more per tire over the Coopers. Are the Michelin tires worth the extra money? I didn't come anywhere near the 50k treadwear warranty on the Michelins so milage isn't an issue. My main concern is whether the Coopers will handle as well as the Michelins. Thanks.19KViews0likes21CommentsCalling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM
Owners of Road Warrior Super C's have been posting on other threads and a few have mentioned it would be nice to have a place where owners of these units could post with other Road Warrior owners. Well - this is a start. I'm Bob Smith. My wife, Debra, and I own a 2009 RWS3400 sitting on the usual C5500 chassis with the Duramax LMM and Alison Transmission. We hale from Billerica, MA. We purchased our unit from it's original owners in AZ back in September of 2010. After searching for this exact unit for a while, we got lucky and found a pristine rig from a family who took great care of it. They just didn't use it as much as they would have liked to and still had a TT they could use to go camping. So their decision to sell was great for us. With only 6000 miles on the clock and the like new condition, it was a great day for us to get this Warrior after months of research. We've had a few minor issues, nothing that I couldn't handle, that made it a shame to think that attention to detail just wasn't a priority during the build. So, thats something we can all help each other out with. The minor wiring issues I've dealt with were all a matter of plugs being put into the wrong jacks (audio/video). Some simple additions to make the audio system more practical for MP3 or portable Sat radio use are items I can share with you. When i get the rig back in the spring I'll take some photos of the added jack for aux input on the house radio. I say when we get it back because we currently have it resting at a center to have the interior seating redone. Out with the U shaped seating and in with the traditional drop down table with benches. It'll be more convenient for us as we have 4 kids and making that table another sleeping area will help. Also out with the J sofa and in with a Jackknife. Again, ease of use and larger sleeping area the concern there. We also talked about adding an electrical outlet at the table. There's always a need to plug in a laptop or charges while sitting there. There are more things we're looking at doing but the list is too long and we're not sure if it'll be cost prohibitive. So we'll wait a bit to mention them. So - who are ya - where are ya - what have you found with your unit that may be an issue. I know most are probably located more to the west. But let's see.141KViews1like422CommentsLiesure Travel Vans
I saw with interest the post asking folks with similar RV s to respond to the question how many of are there? I very seldom see anything about Liesure Travel Vans, specifically the Libero model which is on the Chevey chassis. Is that because Libero owners don't have anything to say or there just aren't that many of them? Obliged to hear from some of you.1.9KViews0likes7Commentselectrical
Hello! Thanks in advance for the help! I am in a vintage 1987 Mini Winnie Winnebago, Toyota chassis. My nephew basically rebuilt the house for me, doing many upgrades. My biggest issue right now is that he wasn't sure how everything should be tied together per se, electrically, and also has not been able to supply me with a complete flow chart of how he wired it. I am hoping someone can develop a detailed flow chart diagram for me to put to use in revising anything I need to. I have 8 solar panels on the roof, 130w each; An MPPT charge controller; a 2000W pure sine inverter; a tankless propane water heater; a Velit 12v rooftop a/c unit; 4 LifePo batteries, 150ah each; a 75 amp charger/converter; a transfer/switch box; air bags on the rear. I thoink that is everything that he changed from the original equipment... Thanks again for any assistance! Terry Beckley340Views0likes6CommentsSink needs sealing
We have a 2019 Thor 24’ Class C motorhome that we just bought. It had previously been a rental from El Monte RV.. All is good mostly. The kitchen sink, however needs some work. It is stainless steel and an under counter type. There is a gap all around the sink where it meets the particle board counter top. There has been water getting in there and now the particle board is swelling up and making a bigger gap. I could just scrape it out a bit and cover the gap with silicone caulk. A better fix would be to remove the sink and abrade away the swollen particle board, replace the sink and then seal the gap. Has anyone had this issue and fixed it?2.5KViews0likes8CommentsHoliday Rambler Atlantis
Looking at a 31ft HR Atlantis on a E450 V10. After doing a search on the forum, I found very few hit to read for this model. Any of you have this rig? If so how do you like it? I did a few searches on the internet and came up with a few very low mile rigs for sale. Makes me wonder if they are a bear to drive creating the low miles. Any input is appreciated.3.1KViews0likes9CommentsTires E-350/450: Stock 225/75? Tall 215/85? Wide 235/85?
Tire Choices for Ford E-Series Cutaway Class C Motorhomes What replacement tires did you put on your Class C motorhome built on a Ford E-350 or E-450 (aka E-Superduty in older rigs) cutaway chassis, and what were your reasons for your tire selection? Did you stick with the stock tire size of LT225/75r16 ? Did you go taller and skinnier, changing to LT215/85r16 ? Did you go taller and wider, changing to LT235/85r16? Did you upgrade to 10 ply rating Load Range "E"? (If you have an older E-350 originally specified with 8 ply rated Load Range "D") Did you switch to European style 225/75r16C, such as what is specified for Euro van cutaways like the Transit and Sprinter? Have you had an experience with any particular brand and model of tire for your E-350/450 RV that caused you to swear "never again"? Do you have a particular brand and model of tire that is your trusted "go to"? Thank you!9.8KViews0likes45Comments
