Chris Bryant wrote: Was your motor home lp hookup high pressure, using the 1lb bottle threaded hookup, or was it a low pressure quick connect. The low pressure can easily be added to your system, the high pressure can be added at the cylinders, but it’s a bit of a kludge. Nice Airstream, btw. On MH it was low pressure so we didn't use the regulators that came with the appliances (camp stove, fire pit). I'm good with either way, but prefer the connection already be low pressure so I don't have to carry the regulators. Since the current system has regulators right off the tanks(at least that's what I think I'm seeing - the green screw in parts make me think there is a regulator down the line somewhere) I'm not sure what parts I need to add a tee after that.Re: Propane Quick Connect?Unfortunately there is no port or connection under the trailer. Here's a photo of what the propane area looks like. I see regulators coming directly off the tanks. At the bottom of the tanks there is a part that switches over from one tank to another (not sure what that is called), and from there the line runs into the trailer. Click For Full-Size Image.Propane Quick Connect? We have recently moved from a Class A to a travel trailer. We're used to having a propane tank mounted under the unit with a quick-connect hose/valve to use for gas grill, etc. Now we have the double bottles mounted on the hitch. Is it possible to draw from these bottles for a gas grill? If so, what part(s) do we need to make a connection?Re: Moving from Class A to TT ???We really love the open feeling/windows of the Airstream, plus they don't feel cheap. We already have a Ram 1500 with the 20" wheel/tow package, so ideally it would be something that it could pull. A new truck is defeating my goal :-) MitchF150 wrote: No, but what kind of TT are you thinking of? What are you gonna tow it with? What do you want to tow it with? My goal in life is to get to a Class A at some point, but probably not gonna happen in my life time... :) Only because the longer I wait, the more expensive they get and the less money I have! ha, ha! Good luck! Mitch Re: Moving from Class A to TT ???The handling is one of our concerns, we figured a trailer would not be as easy a drive, but good to hear that's not necessarily the case. He likes the trailers much better because he enjoys his truck and the handling is better with the truck/Hensley hitch/ trailer combo than any of his motorhomes were. He also had several class C motorhomes which he enjoyed. The worst handling rig was his Safari pusher. Barney Moving from Class A to TT ???We've been RVing for about 12 years now, started with a Class C's then moved "up" to a Class A 36', and currently have a Class A 31'. A month after acquiring the 31' Class A my elderly mother had to move in with us due to health reasons. Needless to say, we are not using it as often as we'd like. And this is the first RV we have ever financed, so making a payment on something we're not using much is a drag. We are thinking about "downsizing" to a TT - not necessarily for something smaller but for something that would cost less and possibly have lower maintenance costs. Anyone here ever gone from a Class A to a TT?Re: Looking for our next motorhome Islandman wrote: Emily - We have one slideout, never any problem and the coach has a solid feel when driving, no squeaks or rattles except maybe a loose dish or something in a cupboard that didn't get placed quite right. Take a short trip down to FL and look at their used ones and maybe test drive one to see if they fit your needs. Ours is a 23 ft model, we moved up from a 19 ft. Pleasure Way Class B so it fits our needs quite well. You folks will be downsizing from the Foretravel which will take some getting used to and you may have to discard some stuff you haul around and don't use, but the fuel mileage and driving convenience will make you happy. It was amazing how much stuff we had accumulated in the Foretravel when we had to completely empty it after the fire. I'm going to be super conscious of what we carry around in our next coach.Re: Looking for our next motorhome Islandman wrote: If you're thinking a little bit shorter motorhome, take a look at used 27 ft. Coach House units, they have very high quality which is what you're accustomed to having owned a Foretravel. I wouldn't buy new as they're too costly, but a five year old might be just the ticked; Coach House doesn't change much from year to year, ours is over ten years old and still looks just as up-to-date as the new ones from the factory. The factory is not far from where you folks live (FL panhandle) and buying a used one direct from the factory will save you some extra money. Thank you for the suggestion, it does appear the Coach House is the Foretravel of the Class C world. I'm impressed by their one-piece fiberglass shell. We went from having a Class C with slideout to the Foretravel with no slide out, which was perfectly comfortable space-wise. There's a beauty to not having one more moving part to go wrong, and I see Coach House does offer two models without slideouts. Do you have a slideout in yours? Any known issues with the integrity of the one-piece shell with a slideout?Re: windshield coverX3 on the Adco cover. Best solution by far.Re: Looking for our next motorhome IAMICHABOD wrote: One of the many avenues to look at is the Former Rental Market There you will get a good value for your money and a RV that has had proper maintenance. There more that 95 owners on that thread and all are happy with their choice. Enjoy your quest for that perfect RV that will suit your needs and budget. Thank you, this is an avenue I had not considered.
