Is there anyone close by who would lend/rent a gen for a day? Help would be much appreciated. Gordon.Re: House batteries and alternatorI've had problems with engine batteries not charging. Two new alternators installed over two years, better, but the problem happened again in October. Cummins in Brandon MB fixed the problem, I hope. The mechanic thoroughly cleaned all terminals on the alternator plus spent some time cleaning the alternator earth connection. Everything functioned as it should and 1500 miles later an erratic tachometer now functions normally.Equalizing engine batteriesCan anyone help please? I regularly equalize our batteries. When I do that are the engine batteries also equalized? If not, how can the engine batteries be equalized? Thanks, Gordon.Holiday Rambler SwitchWe have a 2005 HR Neptune and urgently need to buy a new battery cut off switch. The switch is located just inside the entry door. I've tried several dealers and have an enquiry in to Holiday Rambler. Can any one suggest a source? I live in Canada so a Canadian source would be ideal. I hope someone can help. GordonRe: Broken plug ion Atwood water heaterThanks for all the suggestions. I did manage to remove the broken plug BUT damaged the threads. Worried about the problem overnight then went to a good plumbing company in town. They lent me a tool to re-repair the heater threads and things are AOK.What's the next problem?????????? Gordon.Broken plug ion Atwood water heaterI have just broken the plastic plug on our heater. Has anyone any suggestions re removing the broken piece. A wedge might help but of course I do not have a wedge. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Gordon.Re: Winter RVing in Southern B.C.WE spent part of last winter in White Rock, then left for CA. Never too cold but rainy. We had bought a catalytic heater for warmth to avoid furnace noise but found it generated much moisture despite good ventilation. There was no good complaining. We're both Scots so know what to expect on a west coast. WE can recommend the rv campground at the truck crossing, not cheap but well run.Re: power to video switchFound the solution. I e-mailed Holiday Rambler. The tech told me to look for the fuse in the front bay under the driver's seat #10. Blown fuse....replaced.....four month problem resolved!! Thanks,HR! Gordon.power to video switchWe have a 2005 HR Neptune and are having tv problems. We have a WINEGARD Video switch..model VS 0604/6412. I found a detached power connection which I have rectified. Two problems.. 1. There is no power leading to the switch. Can anyone tell me where a fuse might be? 2. WE never apply power to the video switch. Would the lack of power cause a poor display on the TV? Hope someone can help. Towing car, first time with this MH. Condition worsened and eventually we had to stop. I checked that everything seemed to be normal in battery compartment. All "OK" but did NOT use a multi-meter.. Last year we had similar trouble and eventually the alternator was reconditioned in BC. By using the generator and jumper cables connecting engine and house batteries we limped to Swift Current, SK. I wasn't too happy about using the cables. Tried about 6-7 places in S.Current but no place could, or perhaps, wanted to find the problem. Most were too busy. Limped further west to Medicine Hat, Alta. with my wife driving the car. Same problem, most places too busy. An rv tech who was passing volunteered to find the problem. I told him I suspected the alternator. He found the alternator was not functioning well. Next day we found a shop, told them to install a new alternator. two hours later we were on our way. Problem solved. Engine had lots of power. Moral...check electrical system before leaving and, for me anyway, never install reconditioned items. Gordon. 300 hp Cummins
