If someone goes to website "x" and buys a part and gets shafted guess who the first people they email? Forum staff.Re: duct size questionfound a 2nd hole today where it was rubbing on the frame under there.....all fixed now.Re: duct size questionthanks.....got the section replaced that had the hole in it. Unfortunately I don't notice a huge difference at the vent. Gonna check it more tomorrow to see if there's another leak somewhere. It's the furthest vent up front from the furnace but air just barely trickles out of it. Should have more flow than that I think. There's another vent about 18" from it in the step down from the front of the 5er and the difference between the 2 are night and day. I almost have to have another hole in that duct somewhere.duct size questionIs there a standard size duct on all campers? Eyeballing it I'm guessing 4"? My slide has been rubbing the top of my duct and wore a hole in it. I could just tape it but I really want to re-route it away from that slide gear as it doesn't look like there's enough room there to clear it unless I reduced it in that area. Before I start buying stuff though I want to be 100% sure that's 4" duct.Re: Learning to Position my landing geara couple other quick notes.......I have a 2nd set of levels that I'm going to put on mine. The first set I put on the curb side but my switch is on the street side.....yep...didn't think that one through. Now when I'm by myself and leveling I have to go back and forth until I get it to where I want it where as if I would've just put them by the switch it would've eliminated that. The other thing is I never set mine up to be perfectly level. I try to have it a little curb side high and a little nose high. That's so I can control the run off of rain. My slides are street side so I want the water to run away from the seals and I also prefer my awning to dump to the rear so it's not dumping right by the door. If no rain is forecast I'll set it up level.Re: Learning to Position my landing gear jamway wrote: With our level there is know math involved. It has marks that equals one inch. If the bubble is on the third mark high just make sure you run the legs down at least three inches before you pull the pins for the drop down legs. You will always be able to get level if you do this. what he was saying is that on the front to back level 1 mark can't equal 1" and he's correct due to the length of the coach. At the end of the day the bubble showing level is level regardless of the rv length. This guy made a good video explaining it and it's a good watch if you have a few minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wne0f4oKRQ&feature=youtu.beRe: Learning to Position my landing gear bpounds wrote: Ditto on the stick-on levels. But caution, complex math is required. Every graduated level I've seen offered for RV's, the graduations are 1 inch per 8 feet. Which is perfect for side to side, because the trailers are 8 feet wide. Or 8.5 on the wide bodies, but the difference isn't enough to matter. Here's the math. On the front to rear, it's still 1 inch per 8 feet. So if you've got a 32' trailer, it is 4 inches of leg travel per level graduation. More like 3.5 inches, because you can subtract the overhang area forward of the landing gear from your 32'. cartdog wrote: The Hopkins comes on a set but the one for the front is too small for a fiver. Why does size matter? A level is a level. Unless you are trying to see it from the drivers seat. Which I don't do, but I know some folks do. A light just went on for me from this post. That makes a lot of sense and explains a lot as to why that level doesn't mesh with the distance the nose is traveling.Re: Learning to Position my landing gearyep....I run the legs down about half before dropping the extensions. I like to have as little extension out as possible really. I camp in a couple spots that are pretty drastic as far as how far down I have to get the nose to get it level and still have to have enough leg to get it up high enough to get it on and off the hitch.Re: Awning hangs up ???I'm going to be your guys favorite person haha.......it's the shock arm. Look at it closely when it's open and you'll see some crud on it. I take a scotch brite pad and clean mine real good a few times a year and put a little silicone on that arm. Drove me crazy until I stumbled across that.
