Just wondering, what insurance do you carry on the vehicle? Just liability, or everything, like most people insure their daily drivers? Thanks in advance for your consideration.Re: Good, affordable place to set up for towing? Thanks for the advice, everybody. I do have a good auto mechanic I do trust, I'll check with him - hadn't occurred to me a regular mechanic may take care of it. Towing a 2016 Chevy Equinox, by the way. Chose the vehicle because it can be flat-towed with no modifications.Good, affordable place to set up for towing?Hi there, Folks. My wife and I are interested in towing our car for trips. I’m not terribly handy and am not confident about Installing the tow package myself, and our usual RV service place just quoted us over $6,000 to do the job, which seems outrageous. Does anyone have any tips where I can go to get set up for a reasonable price? Thank you.Memphis Bound looking for RV parkHi Folks. We're visiting Memphis in May, and are looking for a decent RV park not too far from downtown, and we're visiting Graceland, too. Any tips appreciated. Thank you.Who do you use for Roadside Assistance?Hi Folks. I've used Good Sam Roadside Assistance for years, luckily with very few times I've actually had to use it. The service has been fine, but my term is about to expire and it's up to $225 annually. I'm wondering if there's anything comparable or better out there for the same or less money. Good Sam came with our new rig in 2016 for five years, so time to shop, or simply re-up? Thanks in advance for any assistance (pun not intended).Storing with jacks up, or down?Hi there, Folks. Unfortunately, I'm in a position where I have to keep my rig at a storage facility, on gravel. The site isn't bad, but not...quite...level, and water is creeping in a slide. Can anyone share some advice on storing the rig with the leveling jacks down? Good or bad? I have been using standard leveling blocks, but that can be a hassle, especially by myself. My main concern is the jacks getting 'stuck' in the down position. What I was thinking is that I can move them up and down during one of my weekly checks on the rig. Thanks in advance for any input. What’s your dinghy?Hi, everyone. What do you tow, and how do you like it? Thank you!Re: Proper dinghy to tow? Heisenberg wrote: Too heavy. Do you tow the Colorado you have, Heisenberg? (great name by the way) If so, is it two-wheel drive, and how does that work for you? Thanks.Re: Anyone out there adhere to the "new rig every six year rule?Sorry, should have specified "rig." We should all be following the six (or seven?) year tire rule. Editing.Anyone out there adhere to the "new rig every six year rule?Hi, Everybody. When my wife and I bought our then-new Class C at an RV Show in 2016, lots of people we spoke to talked about the 'six-year rule,' in that when you buy new, after six years it's customary to trade your unit in for a new one, roll over the payment, then go another six years, trade, and so on. We're just curious, is it common to do this? Or do most people just buy the unit they like, keep it and pay it off forever like we are? Thank you.
