Also have some damage to the very thin veneer on a lower cabinet. Would appreciate suggestions for repairs: Paint all the cabinets in the galley or ?Campgrounds Near Pendleton, OregonPlanning on taking in the Pendleton Round-Up in Sept 2019. Not thrilled with the RV Parks in town as both the KOA and Casino seem to be basically parking lots. Other campgrounds in the area are 18-20 miles from town which may be a big inconvenience during the Round-Up days. Anyone know of any other options? We are willing to dry camp to get a better "camping" experience. Thanx!Hidden Gem in Very Northern CaliforniaRecently spent a few days at the Blue Heron RV Park in Hornbrook, CA just off I5 a few miles south of the Oregon border. We are so impressed with this place: Each site is paved and very wide with full hook-up. Sites closest to the river and the bath house are the best. The beautiful Klamath River flows right by the edge of the campground. Sitting by the river in the shade of the trees in a perfect RV Park is the best of all camping worlds. Yes, there is no WiFi or AT&T phone service; yes, the road in is a bit windy and bumpy, but once you get here, it's "relax city." The fire situation is rather dire right now, but hopefully will not move to the east and hit the RV Park. http://klamathranchresort.com/Re: Iconic USA Drives....List Your FavoriteHighway 1 from Jenner to Fort Bragg, CA. A bit hairy for big rigs but amazing views of our beautiful Pacific Coast. Watch out for the bicyclists!Re: First BIG Trip, Calif to Louisiana & Back: Feedback PleaseThanks to each and every one of you for your feedback. The one thing we have discovered during our trip planning is how much there is to do in every state of this great country of ours. We are so looking forward to our adventure!Re: First BIG Trip, Calif to Louisiana & Back: Feedback PleaseThanks for the Big Bend suggestion. We could make that a day trip. We have spent time in the Lafayette due to our love of Cajun food and Zydeco music. Henderson is very near Lafayette. We have friends in the area. We've told them that if it wasn't for the humidity, we would consider a move to Lafayette!Re: First BIG Trip, Calif to Louisiana & Back: Feedback PleaseWe have gone back & forth about making reservations at all these CG's. We've decided that, rather than stressing about finding a place late afternoon, we will just go ahead and make reservations since most of the places we'll be staying are relatively popular. Year's ago, we could be spontaneous when heading out camping here in Northern California--no more as the preferred campgrounds get really filled up during the summer, even on weekdays.First BIG Trip, Calif to Louisiana & Back: Feedback PleaseWe will be leaving from our home in Santa Rosa, CA, on April 1st. We are breaking up our return days in California due to excessive traffic congestion around San Francisco. We would appreciate your feedback on our trip (eg, campgrounds, off-the-beaten-path sights to see in each area). Some areas we are avoiding (eg, Monument Valley, Utah parks) is due to having been there in the past. Our interests are history, scenery, wildlife, local cuisine & customs, architecture and relaxing. We have tried to build in days for just hanging out, which is why we are trying to stay in campgrounds and RV parks that are somewhat scenic. We have a 24' TT so we can fit in rustic campgrounds. Your wise advise and experience would be much appreciated.Tire Pressure Monitor SystemWe are thinking of investing in a tire pressure monitoring system for our TT. We have a monitoring system on our Tundra already so only need one for the TT. Would appreciate hearing your experiences with the various systems available out there.
