So I bought a Ram 2500.. :DRe: Looking at Excursions...I had a 2004 Ex with the 6.0. The motor blew lost oil pressure and then things fell apart while towing our camper back in April (about 8500 lbs) less than 60,000 miles had the truck since new and always cared for it. If I were to get another Ex it would be a 7.3 or the V10 but I will never look at one again. ( I bought a '15 Ram with the Cummins that tows much better than the Ex ever did) Good luck with your search I agree the E350 van idea is a good one.Re: Thinking about ordering a new truck tomorrow jayco302fk wrote: Update, Ford will not give me a final price on a 2016 if I order it. They have a 2015 that is available from another dealer but they will not deal any on the price. I have bought 4 new trucks from this dealer in the past. They even told me that they only make about $1000 on the sale of any super duty. BS is my thoughts. So I went across town to the Chevy dealer and they have a 2015 3500HD 6.0 DRW CC LB 4x4 with all the stuff I wanted plus a few extras. They priced it for 4K less than the ford and are even willing to through in a spray in Rhino liner. I think I might go this route. One thing for sure is I will never deal with my local Ford dealer again. Good for you! I did the same thing but went with a Ram 6.7 I hate how the Ford dealers do that type stuff I purchased 2 vehicles from them in the past and the way they treated me was like it didn't matter. Screw that Ford dealer. I bet you will really like the Chevy. I've ridden in a few and they are nice.Re: Anybody towing 36', 9000lb TT with F150 HD payload ecoboostI have a very similar set up as IdaD, I tow a 30' Jayco White Hawk I'm guessing fully loaded 9K. I had a 2004 Excursion 6.0 (the motor blew at 60k) I didn't want a 1/2 ton I've seen 2 that had blown over on their sides while towing campers about like mine. I just personally don't think the 1/2 truck weighs enough pulling something that big. Too much chance of "tail wagging the dog" My Ram is fantastic for pulling this camper. Much better than the Ex was. I didn't go with an F250 because of the big price difference and I lost trust in Ford. (personal) I am happy to use my 2500 as a daily driver too. I get a hand calc 19.8 mixed driving and the truck has been fantastic. I guess I said that already. :)Re: New F350 this weekIf your going from the Tundra in your sig line to the 350 oh boy will you have a huge grin with towing and just driving! Congrats :)Re: New TVI love the color!Re: New ToyI love mine. Got it mid April and I have 2200 miles on it now. Even went on a camping trip with it. Pulls so nice! Re: A month with the 3500...I like the stainless wheel well liners, it brings the rest of the chrome together . I have a '15 Red 2500 with the chrome package but not the wheel well trim. I can't bring myself to drill holes or I'd think about doing it too. My truck is at ~2200 miles and I've been in the 18.6-- 20.1 mpg range (hand calc) the lie-0-meter says over 21... ;)Re: 6.4L Hemi mpg reportExcellent! How many miles on the Ram? As I had mentioned in a previous thread, I was going to look for a 6.4 Ram but the deal I got on my Cummins was hard to beat. Reading your reports I will recommend the 6.4 to my dad, he is in the market for a new Ram this year.Re: 2015 Dodge 2500 6.7L diesel 6spd Auto 8ft bedI just bought a short box version 4x4. Only have 1300 miles on it so no real good mpg but it looks to be 20 or better unloaded on the road and our one camping trip towing our 8500 lb camper it was in the 15 range. This is per the dash read out not hand calculated. It needs more miles to really get a feel. It's dang comfy and has plenty of power though! ( it does have the 3:42 rear end also )
