Bound to be cheaper than a 20k truck as a toad.Re: Low profile trailer?????You can add a 4-6" high sub-frame to move the main frame up from the torsion axles.Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Our new rig. I still have to setup a new Equalizer hitch that I bought to replace this 40 yr old Reese WDH. We are max for the Tahoe but it tows great. It is 20yrs newer than our last trailer, lol. Re: You don't need a 3/4 ton truck to tow a trailer..That's just like this guy I saw last year. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/28495621.cfmCurious......I wonder what they intend to pull with that class 3 hitch on a Ford Festiva??? Re: Anyone with experience towing with a SuburbanWe've been towing alot with this setup (and no sway control or sway problems). Keep it to 6000lbs and 25' and you should be fine. Could use more power but otherwise it is great. Biggest thing that helped was changing the tires from P rated to 8ply LT's. 1984 Prowler 28st (25' box) Trailer is right around 5300lbs with fresh water tank filled (50gallons) and our bikes and gear for a family of 5. The WDH was given to me by my dad and is about 35 years old. It is a fixed head and the bars are on the second chain link to get the front end back down (the snap up brackets slide a bit on tight turns). 2005 Tahoe, 5.3l, 3.73 ratio diffs, 4x4, Nivomat self leveling rear shocks, transmission built for towing, Toyo Open Country A/T II 8ply LTs, 240,000kms. Re: Broke Swivel Stik end in black tank. Oops.Don't worry about, it will eventually make its way out and into the dumping station. My son dropped a Hot Wheels car into our black tank and I actually heard it go through the hose 2 dumps later.Re: Towed 55,000lbs with 135hp todayTrying to convince the old man to get one of these. :S Re: Towed 55,000lbs with 135hp todayHad a bit more fun today. All the tractors were in the field and had to move full wagons 12,000kg around the farm to unload. Clutch was gone on the farm truck so I used my tahoe. 4 Low came in handy today. No sway control or WDH used, lol ;) Re: Towed 55,000lbs with 135hp todayTotally legal here in Ontario. 10 Metric tonnes of soybeans in each wagon. First tractor had a mechanical on the way to the field and the replacement tractor handled the weight no problem. 20mph max when loaded and 16 gears to keep the speed in check. Drove the big boy today hauling 20 tonnes in the buggy back out of the field all day.
