Ouch Good info thoughRe: Ford V10 starting and dyeingI considered fuel pump / fuel filter / fuel relay, but none of those would explain why the starter does not continue to turn over until the engine starts. Use to be that I clicked the key over, let go and the starter would continue to crank until it started. Now, the moment I take my hand off the key, it stops turning over. How does those switches work anyway? Seems to me like an electrical problem related to that switch.Re: Ford V10 starting and dyeing2010 and no check engine light. I do have a code reader, but with something like this come up if there is no check engine light?Ford V10 starting and dyeingHi All, I have a Winnebago Vista, 32K with the Ford Chassis, V10. I'm supposed to head out of town next weekend after the motorhome has been sitting for a couple of months, so I thought I'd take it out for some exercise. I went to start it and it struggled. Typically, I turn the key and let go. The starter continues to turn the engine over until it starts. This time, it only turned over while I was holding the key. It took several tries to get it started and then it would only start for half a second and then immediately die. I then started it while giving it gas and holding the key over. That seemed to work. I figured problem was just that it sat too long and a little drive would remedy the issue. Drove about 15 miles and it died at a traffic light. I tried for several minutes and it would not start. Finally after about 10 minutes, I was able to start it, again only by holding the key over and giving it gas. Just 5 miles from home, I was able to make it without further issues. I'll take it to my mechanic as soon as he can squeeze me it, but in the meantime, any ideas on what it could be? Bad relay perhaps?Weeki Wachee State Park CampgroundsHello Camping Community, We are headed south for the summer and along our way taking our daughter to see the mermaids at Weeki Wachee Springs. My search for campgrounds near there on the internet has proven disappointing. Can somebody suggest a place to stay? I'd prefer someplace with a pool and a few amenities to keep a 10 and 12 year old entertained, but it would not be a deal breaker for a good campground. The best I've come up with is Cody's Catfish Pond, but the online reviews are not selling it to me. Let me know if you have suggestions or if you've been to Cody's. Thanks a million!Re: Amelia Island, GAThanks for all the great suggestions. I now have some direction to search in! I'm always impressed by the wealth of knowledge on this forum and the generous people who give their time to share it with me.Amelia Island, GAI'm thinking of heading to Amelia Island next March for some vintage auto racing at the Fernandina Beach Airport. I'm too late for the state park and the online reviews for the nearby campgrounds are not that great. I was wondering if anybody might have a suggestion on where to stay. We won't spend too much time at the campground, but would like our time there to be relaxing. Perhaps you have stayed at some of these local campgrounds and can offer your personal experience. Thanks in advance for your help.Re: Ready Brake on 2011 Honda FitOkay, I did my homework and got on the RVi2 website. Looks like the Brake away is pretty easy to install. I like the Ready Brake system better, but after poking around last night, I think running the cable through the engine compartment will be beyond my skill set, where as running a single electrical wire is much more forgiving in the routing ( not as much concern for tight bends, etc. ). This wouldn't be a concern in a larger vehicle where there was a little more space under the hood, but in the Fit, there is just no room in there! The other nice feature with the RVi2 is I get a brake monitor and the option for tire sensors. That said, if anybody has any Honda Fit specific advice on installing either of these, I'm all ears. Thanks againRe: Ready Brake on 2011 Honda FitThanks for the input. RVi2 Brake looks a little easier to install on the car, I like easy:) However, is the brake away switch included or is that a separate item? If it is separate, what is a good one to investigate? Will it work without the brake away?Ready Brake on 2011 Honda FitI'm considering a Ready Brake for use with my Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar. Has anybody installed these on a Honda Fit? How was routing the brake cable? I'm trying to decide between professional installation and doing it myself. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you
