All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: I'm Now Toy Hauler-lessThe biggest prompt was that we just didn't get out enough anymore with the kids growing up, off to college and involved in so many other activities. Due to the unit sitting, tires seemed to be rotting away faster than I could replace them. The 2nd biggest prompt was the unreliability of my Ford 6.0. Getting to and from our destinations was always a nail biter as we never knew what or when it would break next and I didn't want to buy another tow vehicle.I'm Now Toy Hauler-lessWell guys, after 12 years of owning various Toy Haulers, we sold (and will miss) our much loved Weekend Warrior 5th wheel a couple of weeks ago. We made a lot of memories in it with trips to the beach, Dumont Dunes, Glamis, Ocotillo Wells and the Sierra's. We still have all the toys though and will rent a few different motor homes over the course of the next year or so before we get into the buyers market. Next up for sale, our POS Ford 6.0 (which we won't miss). It's been fun and I've learned a lot from being a member on this forum. Cheers!Battery Tender for the ToysWith dune season quickly approaching in So. Cal. I pulled the quads and RZR out this past weekend and had three dead batteries. An overnight charge brought them back to life but I need to figure out the best way to keep all three on a battery tender during the off season. What do you guys do or use? Can one tender be hooked up to three batteries at once (with a little custom wiring) or should I get individual tenders for each battery? Does a tender need to be on all the time or would a few hours per day via a timer do the trick? Thanks in advance.Re: Well....I am royally screwed....need adviceIf the slide on your 3705 is anything like my 2006 3505, when the slide is completly opened there is a accessible wood paneled box on top of the wheel well that contains the motor and cables. It comes apart fairly easily and once opened up or removed you should be able to assess the issue and go from there.Re: Fuel Station Pump...what size fuse? That's all it needed, a 20 amp fuse got it running again but I need to puts some gas in the tank now to see if it'll last.Re: Fuel pump......PBL and Graco are one in the same but suffer similiar problems, including others. Here's a link to posts on similiar issues and related fixes I've had. Check the metal fuel filter (there are two, one at the carb and one at the fuel pump) and they tend to leak where they're crimped together during manufacturing. It might explain your gas leak. As for the 36 fault code, that was just an example, not a guess or anything else. Per Onan though, a 36 is; Engine stopped without command by controller) Corrective Action: 1. Gasoline Models – Check and fill the fuel tank, as necessary. (Note: The genset fuel pickup tube is probably higher up in the fuel tank than the vehicle engine pickup.) 2. Low Pressure LPG Models – Check and fill the LPG container, as necessary. On cold days the LPG container may have to be kept at least half full to provide the rate of vaporization necessary to keep up with the genset fuel demand. 3. High Pressure LPG Models – Check and fill the LPG container, as necessary, and drain the genset LPG system of oil that may have migrated from the supply system (Item 5, Page 13). Make sure to re-close the drain valve. 4. Secure the spark plug leads on the spark plugs (Page 20). 5. Replace the spark plugs (Page 20). 6. Service the air cleaner (Page 19). 7. Check for mechanical damage. Here's a link to the manual in case you don't have it "click here" and be sure to check your fuel line running from the tank to the generator. If you disconnect it at the filter on the underside of the unit before it goes into the fuel pump, you can blow into it and listen for air escaping somewhere otherwise it should blow bubbles back into the tank.Re: Cummins Onan 5500 GeneratorYou need to read the second serious of flashes of the code. The first code was three but there is a second serious of flashes for the second part of the code. For example, 3 + 6 = 36. If you don't have a manual let me know what the series of flashes is and I'll look it up in mine. Or, you can always download the manual for your generator on the Onan website.Re: Fuel Station Pump...what size fuse?I finally remounted my pump after rebuilding it "click here for previous thread"and of course it blew the fuse and didn't work. On the bench with no in-line fuse it ran fine, however, once mounted I only had a 10 amp fuse and didn't think at the time to try a heavier one. I know the gears aren't swollen because the pump hasn't had any fuel in it for months and it ran on the bench. I'll be working on it this weekend and will know more soon.
