Just google "mattress manufacturers your area" and you should find some easily. You can usually find one to order exactly what you want and for a lot less. Also look at www.thematressunderground.com for reviews companies and different kinds. I discovered this nifty little trick because we have an antique bed with an odd size. I would never buy a mattress from a big retailer again.Re: CA Campground reservations IBcarguy wrote: To answer a few questions: I'm referring mostly to Santa Cruz (Seacliff, New Brighton). We've been lucky a few times and got reservations at Half Moon Bay. It took 6 months of trying and finally got a spot at Wrights Beach near Bodega Bay. It's frustrating to be ready with 3 computers at start time and still not get a spot. Bottom line is there are more people going camping than there are facilities, especially during spring and summer. It's the same problem in the Sierra mountain state parks. I guess we should start looking into privately owned parks instead of the state parks. Seacliff and New brighton fill up super fast. It's difficult to get sites at them. Have you tried Sunset? It's just south, and I personally like it better as it's quieter down there. There's also a KOA in La Selva that I've heard is nice. Not sure how difficult it is to get a site there, except I know Halloween is crazy.Re: Oldest Class C with bunkhousehttp://www.rvtrader.com/New-and-Used-Jayco-GREYHAWK-RVs-for-Sale----RVTrader.com/search-results?condition=U&make=Jayco|2272274&model=GREYHAWK|764841884&schemecode=AD&trim=31FS|12608&vrsn=hybrid& Not sure what your budget is. Closest are in UT and TX. Also, here's a Winnebago in TX. Pretty nice. I'd like this one myself. http://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2010-Winnebago-Access-31J-112446770Re: Class C regrets/Options you wish you had?First time class CI just joined the forum and am new to this whole thing but I wanted to reach out to you and also tell you not to give up. We were working with the same budget and with the same wish list. We very luckily recently found exactly what we were looking for and in our price range and we're really excited about it. It took a lot of time and effort and a willingness to look at a lot of ugly ducklings but a decent class c in that price range is not out of line. We decided to forego dealers, as the markup at dealers near me was often outlandish. We checked rv trader, craigslist and other sites for private sales. I was willing to search many hours from our home. I checked for new listings every day and I was the first person to respond to the seller we are purchasing from. If we have up after the first class c we looked at we never would have gotten anywhere. We decided against towing simply because of our current vehicle situation and based on the advice of people much more knowledgable than ourselves. A private sale can be risky, but so can purchasing from a dealer. There are really great people out there willing to sell their gently used rvs for a fair price. You just have to find the right one and that will take patience and time.
