We moved to Terlinguq to do the west side of the park and regretted it. Do do hwy 170through big Bend state parkHwy 170 Terlingua to Presido TexasI know most Tx roads are OK for a class A motorhome. Does anyone have experience leaving big Bend NP to the west on 170? ThanksPropane fort worth. I35 corridorI'm traveling along I35 south of fort Worth and I'm looking to fill my 36' class A with propane. Campground is $3.95 per gallon Any better alternative s? Back in WA I go to my local rv dealer & service center. The few dealers I've called in tx don't sell propane Thanks. EdSeattle to Phoenix in December - routes in CAI have just retired. 1st big trip is the Christmas holidays. I'm heading down to Fort Worth Tx. I know in the winter it is best to do I5 to California then turn left vs. Idaho, Colorado, NM TX to avoid winter storms. My question is in California do I stay on I5 or leave at Sacramento and go down 95 to Bakersfield... to I10 Or Stay on I5 to LA and pick up I10 there? Thanks,Re: The Big Green EggIf you have a Sams club near by, they stock a brown egg, Vision Kamado grill. Same as the large big green egg, but less $. Which ever route you go, pick up a BBQ guru temperature controller. They make any wood, charcoal grill set it and forget it. I do 18+ hour cooks for brisket with the guru. https://www.bbqguru.com/Re: Campground near Westport, WA?Bayshore RV Park in Tokeland is a nice smaller park. It is right on the beach vs behind the dunes like Grayland state park. I've been told the new Sand Verbena restaurant is good, but I have not been there.Re: Cody and Thermopolis WY RV ParksWe have stayed at fountain of youth RV park. It is older and sites are close together. We saw several 40+ rigs in the park. The nice thing is you can soak in their pools and walk back to the rig. It all depends if you are there for the hot springs and touring in the daytime or full time type resort. it is good for a night or 2 stop over, but it can be a drive into Cody.Re: 1979 Dodge AVCO helpShane, Starting or at least cranking it over every 3-6 months keeps the oil pumped through the bearing journals. If it has only been 5 years you are probably ok. 10-15-20+ yrs + and you don't know if the bearings have dried up or not. Houston is hard on things since it is 98% humidity 10-11 months out of the year. Everything rusts or rots and you learn to like the smell of mildew. Glad I got out of there after 7 years :)Re: 1979 Dodge AVCO helpOne note of caution on a motor that has sat a long time. A friend got an MGA that sat for 25 years. He was excited when it started and ran after replacing fuel, and cleaning the carb. So he wanted to go on a trip. 100 miles out of town it threw a rod. Upon tear down and inspection, the upper sides of the crank bearings were rust glazed since the oil had run off. This was in humid Houston, but you can have problems with the crank bearings if it has sat a long time.Re: Inexpensive bike rack?Harbor Freight has one. I took it over 9000 miles behind my class C. Works fine. It goes on sale for $39.99 and there are lots of 20% off coupons, Item #98019
