It seemed like I needed a football field to make a U-turn and the rear wheels needed spacers added to make it go straight down the road and not have handling problems. Now I'm considering buying a 1999 Pleasure-Way on a Dodge chassis with very low miles, which is located over 500 miles from my location, so I can't just go look at it just kick tires. I drove a 1997 PW about six years ago and it handled like a dream compared to the 2002. Small turning radius and no spacers. So, my question is, what year did Dodge make "improvements" to the chassis to screw it all up? I'm hoping 2000 and not earlier.2019 Pittsburgh RV Show - Been There?Perhaps I should have posted this question in the Rallies and Shows section, but it doesn't seem many view that section, so I thought I'd try here. Hope I don't offend anyone. Currently the wife and I are at Alpine Lake in WV some two hours from Pittsburgh. Wife refuses to budge since the temp is only -5 and she sees no need for a short road trip to look at RVs. However, if there is a Winnebago Travato 59G at the show the road trip is on. Been wanting to see one in person for some time but have never been able to locate one close by. So if any of you have been to the show and did see a Travato 59G sure would like to know. Wife will just have to get frost bite. ;-)No Good Sam Member Discount?Been a Life Member since 1989 and every time I have requested a quote or purchased a policy from Good Sam RV Insurance (National General) I've always received a "Good Sam Member Discount". I requested an online quote yesterday on a new Travato and of the listed discounts there is not one for being a member. Has this discount been discontinued?Re: Pay Sales Tax In Two States?OP again. It seems this topic has gotten a little out of control and I'm sorry that a couple of posters are perhaps less than happy with each other. All responses are more or less valid in their own way and I have taken them all into consideration. Again thanks for all your replies. Now, here's what the seller and I agreed to do, and we are both comfortable with the agreement. I'll leave with his plate and registration and his written statement that I have his permission to be in possession of and use of his RV. My insurance policy (State Farm) says that I am covered when driving another persons vehicle whit their permission. When I get home I'll send him his plate, registration and that Star Bucks card. I'll leave him with a bottle of JD since I can't send that thru the mail.Orlando to Melbourne, Can I Get There?I'll be flying into Orlando next week to pickup an RV that's located in Melbourne Beach. The seller said he will pick me up at the Melbourne airport, I just have to get there from Orlando. Do any of you know if there is a shuttle service between the two airports? Yes, I could fly to Melbourne, but from where I live a flight to Melbourne would cost twice as much and take more than twice as long. Far more flights go to Orlando. Any info would be appreciated.Re: Pay Sales Tax In Two States?OP here. I'm picking up a class c, should have said that in the first post. Sorry for the confusion. Again, thanks for all the replies.Re: Pay Sales Tax In Two States?WOW! Thanks for all the replies. Going with the those that believe I might be over thinking this. Only three states will not give you a credit for paying sales tax in another state and WV is one of them. I'll have a bill of sale, title (signed), proof of insurance and my license and head for home. I'll pay my fair and required tax in WV. Think of it this way; if the seller was visiting here in WV, had their title with them and wanted to sell me the RV, should I call FL and tell them I want to pay them 6% tax? I think not. Go to my DMV and pay the tax and sleep just fine. Thanks again for your replies.Pay Sales Tax In Two States?I'll try and make this short. I live in West Virginia and want to buy a used RV from a private party in Florida. If I want an "in-transit" tag from Florida to drive the RV back to WV, I have to pay FL 6% tax, equal to the WV tax, to get that tag. When I title the RV in WV I would have to pay the 6% tax again because WV will not give me credit for paying the tax in FL. 12% is more than I want to pay. So, the question is, can I pay the owner for the RV and have them sign the title over to me and just get out of state and skip the tag? BTW, the owner is willing to leave their FL plate and insurance on the RV until I get back to WV.Winnebago Trend- Have One?Thinking about buying a 2017 Trend 23L. Been doing research on one for the last couple of weeks. Would like input from those that HAVE or HAVE HAD a Trend. What do you think of the ride and handling of the ProMaster chassis? How about fit and finish? Any problems with getting service? Would you buy one again? Visited with a couple last week that were staying over night at a Wal-Mart parking lot that had a Model 23L. They couldn't say enough good things about their home on wheels. They gave us the grand tour to include crawling underneath (not my wife, just me). The layout is perfect for us and the size seems to be just right. Has lots of bells and whistles to include a factory installed 100 watt solar panel with Zamp controller. The only issue that I might have is with the single rear wheels. In Europe this seems to be common. Not sure if this should be of great concern. Oh, and it doesn't come with a spare tire. So, impressions please.Re: So, Where's All the Oil Going? Thanks for all the replies. Didn't think about checking the PCV valve. Do that in the morning. Never have used synthetic oil. No oil in the cooling system. No heat riser. No cooling lines underneath. If the PCV valve isn't an issue, I'll check the intake manifold next. Again, thanks for your input.
