Ran the wire over to the bay with all the hook ups. I plug into the gfci in the pedestal.Re: Generator vapor lockingFor those with the Onan 4000 generator, they make a vent to install in the compartment door especially for it. It separates the cooling air from the hot exhaust air from underneath the rv. Works great.Re: Wiring Disaster CA Traveler wrote: wa8yxm wrote: CA Traveler wrote: Actually a built in RV generator should have a bonded neutral and ground. Should have? Say who. Mine did not. Neutral floated. I know cause it "Bit" me.. (Well slight tingle) annoying more than painful. but it very clearly was NOT bonded. And now you know why they should be bonded. Without the bonding both the neutral and hot wires are hot and potentially dangerous. Normally the neutral is expected to very close voltage wise to the ground because of the upstream bonding like in the CG distribution. Plus there is equipment that does not work or work correctly on a non bonded circuit. EMS is an example and of course the 3 light tester. Portable gens are excepted in part because they typically are not necessarily designed for RVs. Some RVs will modify there portable gen for neutral ground bonding. I had to make a bonding plug to make my Honda portable generator work on my motorhomeRe: What the heck? I thought motorhomes lost value fast!!Just bought a 2015 Fleetwood Flair. Made the guy an offer. He accepted and said he had a lien on it. I said I would pay off the loan and give him what was left. He said he owed $5000 more than he was selling it for. NADA was 5k more than asking. He still owed 50k on it. He made many upgrades to it. I’m happy!Re: 12v TV/monitor.. What your using please.. No invertersJust bought this 32" Insignia from Best Buy for 169. It has the brick transformer. I had a 12 volt cig lighter plug and it works perfectly on 12 v and 110 when I have it. Has all the plugs on the back for anything you want to hook up. It plugs into my Jensen system also to play DVDs. Perfect hd picture ota. New campers and have a hitch questionFirst of all, I have enjoyed reading all the posts. Lots of good information. Wife and I just bought a 2013 Aspen Trail 2460 RLS. Planning a shake down trip in a couple weeks, dry camping. Lots of fun getting everything ready inside trying to keep it light tho without a lot of unnecessary things. I have searched here and on the web for WD hitches. I towed it from Virginia Beach to Morehead City NC 180 miles with just a regular hitch 60 to 65 mph with no issues. 2007 F150 V8 5.4 Triton 4 door. I have read a lot about the Anderson hitch and am leaning toward getting it. Any comments about it? Will post a pic when I figure out how. Re: water pump noiseYou should have cut offs on the pressure side of the pump. Cut the valve off on the pressure side and see if the pump builds up pressure and cuts off. If it does, you will have to work your way forward from there. You can also adjust the tightness of the screws holding the pump sometimes to get it quieter.
