Added benefit to me is finally being able to park in my garage. :)Re: Flat Towing New Ford Ranger Behind Class CI have confirmed the towability for the model I want, just wondered how things have felt handling wise for those that tow near maximum allowed weight. We do on occasion have to travel through mountains. If it were much of an issue we'd just unhook and have someone drive the other vehicle during those times.Flat Towing New Ford Ranger Behind Class CAnyone flat towing a newer Ford Ranger? Was thinking about getting rid of the Honda CRV we have now and downsizing my F-150. Looks like the weight of the new Ranger I want is about 4400 lbs. Our MH is 32' long with the Ford V10. Wondering how towing a vehicle near the weight limit performed.Re: Replacing Over-the-Cab TVThanks for the responses! Guess I'll be shopping for a 12-volt TV. Now I have to measure to see what size I can fit on the built in TV mount system.Replacing Over-the-Cab TVHas anyone replaced their TV that is over the cab with a larger screen, lighter weight TV with one from a regular store vs. RV dealer? Any special connection issues, such as power supply etc.? Thanks!Re: Pilot/Flying JUsed to be a loyal Flying J customer when we had our first MH. Just bought another one last fall and recently went on a 3000 trip. Tried to stop and FJ and rest for night for a short period but couldn't find any "RV" capable spot that wasn't taken up by a semi. Noticed this at most of the FJ's we went to or passed up. Still bought the gas as their lots are maneuvering friendly. Found out from one of the guys filling my LP that things went downhill after Pilot got in charge. Now charging for dumping and really does not care about the RVers anymore. I have really liked Love's lately and now go to CW for propane and dumping when available. Stopovers have been at Walmart. So far so good.Re: Hot Water Engine Heat ExchangerThanks! I think that would be doable even for me. Only other option is to try and insulate the compartment. May end up doing both.Re: Hot Water Engine Heat ExchangerSorry, finally took the time to update my profile to reflect equipment. I posted earlier rather quickly and didn't think to put down rig type, but made a bad assumption that posting under Class C said enough. Thanks for the responses so far. I have to run up to the truck service center where I get the chassis taken care of and I'll have them look at it as well to see if a bypass could be added if there isn't one. I looked around where it appeared the lines are being routed and couldn't find any type of valves associated.Hot Water Engine Heat ExchangerI have a water heater that uses an engine heat exchanger to heat the water while driving down the road. Access to the water heater is not insulated inside the cabin due to access requirements. Problem is that while driving in warmer temperatures (near 100 degrees in Iowa and South Dakota last week) heat is emitted making it difficult to get the air cool in the cabin. I like the feature, but would like to know if there is a bypass in the engine compartment or at least a way to add one. Can't find any reference in the manuals.Re: Anyone added self-leveling jacks? j-d wrote: So call Bigfoot, or call HWH, and ask them: What is the Shipping Weight of Your (insert model of the one you're interested in) Leveling Jack Package? It isn't going to weigh any more that that once installed. Installed weight is 180lbs. It reduces carrying capacity by one less adult or extra gear if loaded to or near GVWR. I'm quite aware hardware doesn't GAIN weight once installed. :)
