All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: New Border RegulationsConspiracy beliefs? Yeah, Dime a dozen. Always have been , always will be. IMHO. That's why whenever I keyboard something a little outlandish or a joke I always try to follow it with a smiley face. Just in case. As for stress, mine is nonexistent , compared to the stress and outright horror of the people , who through no fault of their own, have lost every thing, or are about to, and don't have anywhere to turn for help. Try to put yourselves in their shoes. I tried, on more than one occasion and I can't . I don't have a fortune or anything near that, but I consider myself EXTREMELY fortunate. My only stress is waiting for the Canada USA border to open and hopefully my return to Mexico. Ppfftt.Re: New Border RegulationsSo , $2000.00 for 3 days quarantine eh? Hhhhmmmmm. That works out to 666.66 per day. 666 !!! If I remember correctly , there's something biblical about that number. This is what happens when they close the border to rvers....... bored spitless. I don't use my calculator often .... but when I do I make sure everyone knows about it. :)Re: New Canada Border regs.As I stated on my earlier post. Do your own due diligence . The responses that I got from the agents mean nothing if they don't like your face. Border open or not , it's the agent you are dealing with at the time of crossing who determines if you get through or not.Re: New Canada Border regs.I phoned 3 border crossings this morning at approx. 10:00 and here is what they told me. Concerning Canadians crossing into the USA from Mexico to get home. Lukeville- No Nogales, Mariposa- Yes. I phoned a few times and the answer was always -- "Yes" Eagle Pass- No So there you go.....If I were down there, I would phone Nogales and try them. Good luck to you all.Re: New Canada Border regs.Moishe, I get the feeling it almost depends on the agent you talk to and how the question is stated and perceived. Al I can tell you is what this particular agent told me. I also was curious about shipping the RV across the border . One transport company guy told me it wasn't allowed.?? even though it seems lots of people have done it. So, I phoned the Coutts border crossing and talked to the US border agent and she stated that "at this time" , we are still allowed to ship our rvs across the line. One thing I would recommend is for people to contact Mariposa at KM 21 and if closed to Canadians at least you could get a new tip and stay for another 6 months , ...If you had to... It would be to late if you were told at the border that you can't cross. However... I find that whole scenario unlikely . Maybe I'm wrong, who knows anymore. We live in interesting times.Re: New Canada Border regs.Moishe ;; I phoned the Mariposa border crossing 2 days ago and the agent said Canadians drivers can cross into the USA , but we have to go straight to the Canadian border. No sightseeing. He also specified " AT THIS TIME". I would urge people to get confirmation before getting to the border as things tend to change .Re: Expired TIPThanks for the replies. The vehicle never made it to Mexico . When I return in October I guess I'll find out one way or another. I will let you all know what happens. Hopefully we will be done with this Corona -virus thing by that time.Expired TIPIn my last post,... just to refresh, ... I was going to drive to the border to turn in my TIP before it expired on April 1st. Border closures make this unlikely now. Due to circumstances beyond our control we didn't make it to Mexico this year after applying for a TIP online. Sooo....I Emailed Banjercito to ask if I could turn it in in October when we next come down and apply for a new TIP then. They replied that that would work. Knowing that there could be fines or confiscation of truck for turning in a late TIP I was wondering if anyone had "actually " taken a vehicle and turned in the TIP a few months late if never having entered Mexico. As I mentioned before, while Banjercito says its ok , the bureaucrat at the border might see things differently . Worse case scenario, I'll just stay in the "Free zone". If anyone has dealt with an expired TIP I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.Re: New TIP QuestionTallyho; I printed out the email and to take with me....but....after thinking about it for about 5 minutes,..decided to go on a road trip before it expires on April 1st. The thought of putting my trucks future in the interpretation of a bureaucrat at kilometre 21 had me a little nervous. plus maybe fines... who knows. I just didn't want to take a chance. Got nothing better to do anyways. I'll just make a holiday out of it.... that way I'll know for sure that its all good. ..Anyways ....... lesson learned about going online. Sometimes its good and sometimes, well stuff happens .Re: New TIP QuestionJust received E-mail from Banjercito. They said to cancel it next time across the border and apply for a new one. So there you have ..in case anyone runs into this problem.
