We already took it out for a 1 week vacation, and it was fantastic! What a great RV. Drives like a dream!!! Thanks to everyone for your help through this long process!Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low?Congrats! That coach is awesome! :)Re: Considering this used Class A....... DiskDoctr wrote: Congrats! Have you driven or walked through it yet? If it feels right, go for it. Pictures don't always do justice, your experience in it will either make you ecstatic or change your mind. It sounds like it will be the former, thanks to the inspection and lots of pics. Best wishes! NOT YET! My offer to the sellers was: "I offer $10,000 cash, contingent on a test drive, and an in person inspection as well." Hoping to meet up by January 2nd to either make the purchase or walk away.Re: Considering this used Class A.......Original asking price was $15k. Do you not think this is a good deal? The coach is 20 years old, and definitely needs work. mike brez wrote: IDK I see dirty carpet and drivers seat. Dash looks like a cat got to it. That leak on the night stand was leaking for awhile by the looks of it. Wonder whst happened were the plug is burnt. Personally don't like the toilet in the open prefer it by itself. Like you said it needs all new head liner now was that due to water or old age and the glue that is holding it breaking down. In one picture I can't tell but passenger side outside wall there looks like a bunch of holes drilled in or snaps not shure what that is for. One of the sets of batteries looks a little dirty. Re: Considering this used Class A.......UPDATE!!!! I had my professional inspection this past Sunday, and have TONS of pictures and a full inspection report. Here are more pictures: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ajvct5d9of9igg0/AAATb1d2_oRg6zC9dRQkVtf-a?dl=0 That link will have the original pictures, along with the new pictures and a preliminary report. I made a list of items that need corrected, and sent an offer of $10k to the sellers. "Our offer for your coach is lower than your original lowered asking price based on: Tires are dated 2/2013, even though they were installed this year. They will now need to be replaced in 5 years. Cabinet water damage repair The entire ceiling will need to be replaced. LPG gas inspection Cummins oil leak repair and gasket repair Generator maintenance and major labor involved in oil leak repair Older engine batteries replacement" They ACCEPTED that offer!!!! So!!! What is everyone's opinion on this deal, based on the new pictures????Re: Considering this used Class A.......Again, thank you all for your help! I am in touch with the sellers, and based on them willing to accept an offer, I will be moving forward with a full inspection from a professional company. If everything checks out to be acceptable and in full working order, I will present an offer of $10k to the sellers. Again, I will keep everyone updated and also post the full inspection report to get everyone's opinions. Thank you!Re: Considering this used Class A.......Thank you again for your responses. The generator was inspected, and powers up fine, but does appear to have an oil leak around the bottom. The tech could not find a stamp or tag to identify the unit, but he thinks its a DKD. I have been quoted approximately $2500 to repair the front gear housing gaskets and exhaust leak. The tech stated that to repair the generator oil leak would cost approximately $1500-1800. With this being said, I have yet to get back in touch with the owners with the news I have found. With the asking price basically being at $14k, how does everyone think I should proceed?Re: Considering this used Class A.......Update: I am still waiting on the generator, chassis, oil and coolant analysis, but here is what I have so far: -PERFORMED A VISUAL INSPECTION. NOTED AN OIL LEAK. FRONT GEAR HOUSING GASKETS APPEARS TO BE BLOWN OUT. INSPECTED OIL LEVEL. INDICATING LOW OIL LEVEL. -MUST ADD A 1 GALLON TO TOP THIS LEVEL TO THE FULL MARK. (ADDED OIL TO THIS ENGINE OIL CRANK CASE). -ALSO NOTED AN EXHAUST LEAK AT THE OUTLET SIDE OF THE TURBO PIPE CONNECTION. THE WELD HAS BROKEN OFF/CRACKED. -DROVE AND SET THIS UNIT ON THE DYNO. SET AND INSTALLED AN OIL PRESSURE GAUGE,FUEL GAUGE AND USED A HEAT GUN FOR COOLANT TEMP VERIFICATION. -RAN ENGINE TO RATED SPEED. HORSE POWER ON THIS ENGINE IS @ 155 TO 160 HORSE POWER. ENGINE IS RATED AT 250. -OIL PRESSURE WHEN COLD START WAS 60 TO 70 PSI. WHILE ON DYNO RATED SPEED, THE OIL PRESSURE MAINTAINED 40 TO 45 PSI. AT IDLE ENGINE AT NORMAL TEMP OIL PRESSURE WAS 25 PSI. -COOLANT TEMP ROSE TO 203 BEFORE THE COOLANT FANS CAME ON.NOTE FANS ARE HYDRAULIC CONTROLLED. ENGINE COOLANT MAINTAINED @ 180 TO 200 DEGREES. -INSPECTED FUEL PRESSURE OK (NOTE MANUAL FUEL PUMP WAS 25 TO 30 PSI.) The manager is going to get me a quote on the repairs. So far, what is everyone's opinion?Re: Considering this used Class A.......Update: The owners dropped off the coach last Wednesday at Cummins, so because of the holidays, it should be going into the shop tomorrow. I have also asked them to perform a SCA coolant test, and an oil analysis for me. Ill keep everyone posted!Re: Considering this used Class A.......Dodge guy, While not being used by us, It will be used for family to stay in, while being parked on my property.
