No, but being such a cooler climate I am not sure they would have ever needed to activate. Or am I wrong? Not sure honestly if I've ever heard the fan come on. We haven;t used the camper since last October, so it has sat foe a while. Does the fan come on at a certain ambient temp or a temp of the system? Maybe a back thermostat or fan possibly. Maybe you're right. As the trucks driving down the road a venturi acts as the fan, thus it begins working?349Views0likes0CommentsAnother Dometic fridge not cooling
Hello, I tried searching but couldn't find a thread replicating my scenario. Dometic 8cu,ft. freezer/fridge combo in a 08 Host Everest Camper, mounted in a slidout(no roof vent). Plugged into electric at home, was working fine. Switched to propane on the road to N.Calif coast. Working fine. Each day we were parked(aver. temps 70deg's daytime,58deg's evening through night) temps dropped until food spoiled. Camper was level, checked burner was lite, boiler tube warm, tried turning on/off multiple times, each time it relit, no check light problems. Left camp site, drove 30 miles to another and reparked and leveled. Fridge was cooling again? Throughout the day, stopped cooling? Drove home, 4hour drive, got home, fridge cold again? Host factory no help, Dometic zero help, called RV places no help(want it brought in of coarse). I have read where ammonia in system can get a bubble? Or remove fridge, turn upside down, to get ammonia from settling? Any suggestions are appreciated in advance.1.3KViews0likes8CommentsRe: Host Mammoth TC
We have the Everest which is the same size,different floorplan. We too omitted the oven as the Micro is a convection type. This gives you a couple more drawers. They also offer storage cabinets over the couch and the dinning table which increases storage. Really is plenty of storage. We also tote ours on a 3500 1-ton dually. Although I do have heavier springs and air bags. Hauls the camper easily. Only thing I feel is a must is a exhaust brake. The triple slides are unbelievably comfortable. We also toured the Host factory and was impressed with their quality. Ours is a 2008 and haven;t had one problem with it yet(probably shouldn't have said that). There are alot of processes they do/or don't do that's different from others,i.e., vacuum bonding walls in house,welding processes, no lumber sandwhiched in the tubing(rather they use heavier tubing),etc. Might want to investigate the manufacturers processes. Lots of interesting replies. I respect your question, at least you have the guts to ask. I served our country for over 23 years as a Police Officer and prior as an Infantryman in the Army. Both positions required the use of firearms. I mention this ahead of time because someone is going to challenge my opinion. The OP asks a legitimate question and I feel compelled to share my experience. Sorry if anyone becomes offended, but safety is more important. I think commonsense(the brain) is by far the greatest weapon, the firearm is the greatest equalizer. Most here haven't ever had a problem during their travels as a result of that commonsense, but mostly luck. Folks, there is SO MUCH "crap" going on around you every single day that you are not aware of. This doesn't suggest your stupid, but it's unfortunately true. The old saying,"you don't know, what you don't know!" It would absolutely shock you to know the dark secrets of your neighbors and the people that you stand next to at the checkstand at a gas station. People who call you paranoid are simply ignorant to this world we live in. Follow the suggestions of being aware of your surroundings when you park or gather for your stay. Both animals and humans are predators. You can't always spot the attacker, not all of them are sleeved with prison tatoos and are muscle pumped. Some are very crafty and unassumable as they are masters as to entertain their victims. I think you get the point, but just because most have never seen any danger in their life doesn't mean they haven't been near it. Every one of us has been very lucky. In all my years, I haven't ever been in a traffic collision. Should I stop worrying and drive with disregard? Am I paranoid? Should I surrender my license and not drive? Use the commonsense you've developed your whole life and enjoy our great lands. I have a friend that's a RCMP officer(Royal Canadian Mounted Police). I am always baffled/amazed when he describes the anti guns laws of Canada. These shock most Americans as our country has such deep history rooted with our right to keep and bear arms. I would die for each American to keep that and all these rights. Therefore, unless your a criminal and/or abuse the right to have a firearm, you can keep it and use it in the defense of your life or great bodily injury. As far a Zimmerman? Well he's alive as are countless others that have used and/or even displayed a firearm to disway a would be attacker. Now having said that, it is your responsibility and yours alone if you choose to display or use it.
