I love my TC and I have many uses for it. But, call me a sissy. I hate the cold. So TC works great when weather is warm and suitable to sit out side and relax. But I am wanting to go camping in the winter months and am not comfortable sitting in the bench seat around the kitchen table. I want a recliner (couch) that I can sit inside read, watch move and be comfortable. Oh would I ever love to own a TC with a rear slide reclining couch. Thats the ticket. But I can't touch one of those for less than $15,000. Can't justify that much money right now, when there are so many other 5ers and pull behinds for what I thought may work for around $10,000. Maybe in 10yrs I will be able to justify a double or triple slid. I need more space. By the way, I notice you have a very nice set up.Re: Considering TH with challenging towThe goose neck flat bed with camper on the front is looking pretty good. There were some pretty nice setups on the pirate4x4.com siteRe: Considering TH with challenging tow Steve O Reno wrote: dougford wrote: Keep your truck camper. Buy a big goose neck trailer. Put truck camper on it. Haul Jeep behind camper. I saw a couple of these setups last weekend at an OHV park here in Texas. Wish I had taken pictures. One guy had around a 16-foot Airstream on his goose neck. It was awesome looking. If you go to the pirate4x4 website they have a number of trailer builds taking a gooseneck flay bed and putting a 5vr trailer and using the rear 20 or so feet to hauler a jeep/crawler. I just looked at a race car trailer with living quarters so a few options limited by $$ This is what I just started thinking of today. Can pickup a 38-40' flat car hauler and put a 24' travel trailer on the front. I have been looking around on the web today, but did not find anything. I will go to pirate4x4 and check there.Re: Considering TH with challenging towYes, I have thought of that. Wondering how would handle in the sand w/o much weight on the back of the tow.Re: Considering TH with challenging towWork and Play is a very nice unit. Budget is allowing around $12,000 max. I am looking at something like a 02-04 WW 3000.Considering TH with challenging towLooking at giving up the TC for TH for the sand. Problem:Towing with a GMC 4500 4x4. Stock box height is 69". Replacing the box for flat bed is a no go wife says. So looking at triple axle 30-32' bumper pull. Problem: Needing to transport Jeep which weighs around 3500lbs. Reading that is to much weight hanging off the back end. So looking at older 5'er that is lower profile. Considering axle flip. Possibly adding 2-4" rectangular square tubing lift between frame and shackles. I know that will raise the center of gravity and possibly be stability issues. I need to keep OA height under 14'. What are the experiences from the peeps that have tried to over come this problem?Re: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper HereI know I posted I here last year with my new to me TC, I these are addicting. Had to get another one. This one is also a Weekender, but longer over the cab and longer in back. This one has 3400gen, awning, electric jacks and TV.(the TV is what got me addicted to this one, NOT) Of course this one needs alittle work. I will post pictures of my improvements. Here is a picture of the other one. I guess I will be selling this one. Moderator edit, "width=640"Re: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here2006 GMC 4500 4x4 Weekender TC
