We hope to be heading in that direction by August.Colorado & New Mexico Rt 17Planning a trip to the Cumbres & Toltec RR. Looking for information about the RT 17 from Antonito CO to Chama NM.FIC 3500 power jackWe just brought home our new Rockwood trailer. It has an FIC 3500 power tongue jack but didn't come with any manual or info. The head of the jack interferes with opening my truck's tailgate when hooked up. I can't find any info about this jack on-line. Hoping I can turn the head 90 deg like I did on my old Barker jack. Does anyone have any info on this jack? Thanks, JoeRe: Water accumulation in rolled-up awningWe unroll the awning every few weeks when not in use. To remove mold & mildew we use "Mold Armor". Buy it at Home Depot. Spray it on with the garden hose, wait 10 minutes and rinse it off.Re: RV age & park rules?Hi, Have been RVing since 1970 all over the country and have only been asked the year of the rig one time. That was in Las Vegas. I think if you arrive at the park and the rig is in good shape you shouldn't have a problem. Gas up, hit the road and have a great time!Re: The C we want has no attached roof ladder...Hi, We just ordered our new trailer and requested they don't install a ladder. I feel it's a temptation to kids to climb. Also found them too steep to comfortably climb. We carry a "Little Giant Ladder" in the back of the pickup. If you stand it on edge across the bed it only takes 8 or 10 inches of space.Re: Glacier National ParkWe went in early September. Excellent weather and not too crowded. The "Going to The Sun Road" is well worth the trip. The hike to Hidden Lake from Logan' Pass Visitor Center is a must. Be sure to allow several days to leisurely explore the Park. have a great trip.Re: Strangest thing seen while camping. While camping in Fishing Bridge CG in Yellowstone we had returned to our trailer for lunch and a nap. As I stretched out on the couch I hear a grunt that I assumed was the dog next door. As I looked out the window I found it was a Buffalo checking out our trailer. A herd of 40 or 50 Buffalo were walking through the Camp.Re: Driving to Florida from Boston First TimeWe take I-95 to I-287 over the Tappan Zee Bridge to I-78 to I-81. Our first stop is Western Village RV Park, Carlisle , PA (exit 45). Continue on I-81 to I-66. East on I-66 to Rt. 17 (exit 28). Take Rt 17 to I-95 south to Florida. We stop the 2nd night at Carolina Crossroads in Roanoke Rapids, VA. 3rd night at Green Acres in Walterboro, SC. After that it depends on how much time we have till our first reservation in FL. We like this route because it avoids DC. Depending on weather we don’t De-Winterize till the 2nd or 3rd night. Enjoy your Winter!
