We're not concerned a lot; just our old Fleetwood had a bumper and DH thought the new one should also. Your report about the cabinets and furniture is very interesting! He's an excellent driver and a pilot as well, so we have some choices.Re: DH is concerned because our Coachmen Mirada has no bumpersOh. Our old Fleetwood A (1999) had one, so we thought this one should too. Thanks. I guess if everyone else is doing all right, we should be able to.DH is concerned because our Coachmen Mirada has no bumpersHi, everyone. We recently bought a 2011 Coachmen Mirada 29DS. DH is concerned because it has no bumpers and the face is one piece of fiberglas. I haven't been able to find a source, googling RV bumpers, and don't see that it was even an option on the 2011 Mirada. I'd appreciate any advice you can offer on how to find a bumper at a decent cost. Thanks.Re: No spare tire holder on our 2011 Coachmen Mirada 29ds. What?I guess I put too many words in when I searched before posting, because I couldn't find any responses. I now see lots of people have talked about this, and I understand there just isn't one there. I also see the pros and cons, so thought I'd back out of this question and not bother the forum members with it. I don't know how to delete my previous post, if there's a way to do that. Sorry. No spare tire holder on our 2011 Coachmen Mirada 29ds. What?We thought we had checked this motorhome thoroughly, but didn't notice there's no spare tire, and no apparent place to put one. It's a done deal now, but can anyone tell us are we having a bad dream or does this rig not come with a tire and a place to put it? I have a call in to a dealer, but haven't heard back, and don't know if anyone there will be able to tell me, and I'm betting someone here will. Thank you very much.Re: how in the heck to pick a used class AActually, we are returning the Fleetwood to my son after fixing the differential, replacing the sway bar, and replacing the radiator reservoir. He's going to fix it up further and give it to his sister,so its life isn't over yet. I know nothing about the mechanics of the Fleetwood. I can tell you that it had only 60,000 miles on it and it seemed like it shouldn'st be this rattly after only those miles, although my son may have driven it harder than we would, and we don't know what kind of treatment it had before he bought it. It did have leaks, also, and it is using some oil; more than DH thinks it should. Otherwise, I love the amount of storage and the fact it has no slideouts; we didn't need additional room. The upholstery held up all right too. Kitchen is big enough for RV cooking. We didn't use the sofa as a bed or the dining area for a bed either, so I can't comment on that. After we drive the 1200 miles in it to take it to my son,I'll know more about whether replacing the sway bar helped the rattling problem, and can post more later if you have specific questions.Re: how in the heck to pick a used class AThanks, tooltime and soren. I agree with you. We looked this one over top to bottom, inside and out. DH is a pilot who has also worked as a mechanic in the past, and he knows how to do a decent check before getting in any rig that goes in the air or on the ground. Thanks for the reminder.Re: how in the heck to pick a used class AWe bought the Mirada DS29 for $37,000, contingent upon them having the generator fixed and a noise in the ignition (I may not be describing that correctly). Seemed like a bargain to us, and we thought it handled and drove very well. Interior is pristine and like new, with lots of upgrades. A little too "homey" for us, but that's all right. Thanks, everyone, for your help.Bedrooom slide mechanism on 2011 Coachmen Mirada 29DS?We're considering a 2011 Coachmen Mirada 29DS. DH couldn't tell what kind of mechanism the bedroom slideout has. The dining room one appears to be a rack-and-pinion. We want to know because a salesman at a different place told us that pulley (cable) slideouts have problems because they don't always line up properly. Does anyone here have this information? I've searched the net for hours and can't find an answer. Thanks very much.Re: how in the heck to pick a used class AJ-Rooster, I just clicked through diMartini's inventory, and they don't have anything that matches us just now. The funny part is, we actually went to diMartini's when we were visiting my son in California three weeks ago. They told us they'd have a much larger selection at the first of the year. We may have to just wait until then. Thanks for the reminder! I had forgotten about them.
