All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsMotorhome MagazineIn the current issue of Motorhome Magazine they have an article on Pet Friendly Parks for 2013 on page 16. The picture that accompanies the article illustrates one of my pet peeves at campgrounds. The lovely family is out for a hike with their dog going through the campground. I see similar campers like this just about every time I stay at a state park. The part I'm concerned about is the size of the dog and the little girl holding the leash. When that dog sees my pet or a squirrel, or any other attraction, that dog is going to be gone either dragging the little girl or completely pulling free. I know, your dog doesn't do that, but I see it happen all the time. If you are going to walk your dog through the campground, have someone holding the leash that can control the dog. After your dog has attacked my properly chained pet is not the time to apologize for not having a proper hold on it.Re: Hwy 64 to Hwy 65 to I 70 in MissouriI was on the same route two weeks ago. 64 is a two lane road but has many RVs traveling to and from Bennett Springs. 65 is as good as an interstate all the way to I-70 with the exception of going slow through Sedalia.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today??? I'd like to see a picture of that. What an interesting idea!Re: Waiting at the Rainbow BridgeOur wonderful Wally passed away today from unknown causes. He just fell over and went into convulsions that lasted about half a minute and then died. He was a very loving pet and kept the yard free of mice and voles. He could be a pain at times as he would plop himself down on my computer keyboard anytime I wanted to work on the computer. He felt my pillow was placed there just for him. I will miss him. Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???I was going to the Chevy Dealer to get the state inspection completed after installing new mufflers and fixing all the exterior lights. I was about a mile from the dealer when the old electric fuel pump just quit. I coasted to the side of the road but there was no shoulder so I was basically in the road and blocking traffic. I called the Chevy Dealer and told them the situation. They called a tow truck and had it hauled to their service bay. However, it has sat there all day and they have done nothing to it. This at least taught me that the mechanical fuel pump can not pull fuel through the electric pump. I probably could have bypassed the electric and been able to drive it to the dealer but at the time, that was not an option. Still haven't gotten the safety inspection or been able to license it and we plan on leaving this Friday for the lake. This is going to be close. I need to retire. Work keeps getting in the way.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???With the help of Number 2 Son, we installed those infernal air bags in the front springs. The directions say to collapse the bags and tie them with strings to keep them small enough to go through the 2" hole. I tried and tried to tie strings tight enough but resorted to zip ties (tie wraps) which worked out great. With a little twisting and turning and a few choice words we got the suckers in there and inflated to 70 lbs. I'm certainly glad that job is over!Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Dropped the cooling unit from the refrigerator off at RV Refrigerator Repair in Falkville, AL while on vacation from Kansas City to Mobile. Very nice folks at RV RR. They will completely rebuild the unit and have it ready when we start home next week. If you have refrigerator problems, I highly recommend them. I just hope I have enough smarts to put the refrigerator back together again.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???I pulled out the refrigerator to be taken in for repair. After I got it free from the wall, I discovered it was about 24" wide. The motorhome door is 23" wide. Houston, we have a problem. I dismantled the back of the fridge and pulled off the coil unit. With a little maneuvering I finally got it out the door. Now, off to Alabama and drop it off at RV Refrigerator Repair Co.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today??? (maybe because the MH is 11 years old?) All we need are 2 jacks and the dash a/c coolant recharged. 15 days, nothing done yet. Grrrr. Iris You need to contact Colaw's RV Salvage in Carthage, MO (Google them). They can get you a couple of used jacks. They have them on the shelf.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???After fixing my power washer (one allen wrench and 4 new O rings) I decided to try to wash off the black crud that looks like mold from the '84 Holiday Rambler. It hadn't been washed in years. It did a good job of getting it off and surprisingly, some things that were black turned white, and some things that were white turned black. It really made a difference on the fiberglass and plastic and made the awning look like new, too. I love my power washer. It isn't so powerful that it sprays off the paint or harms the surface. Just does a good job cleaning.
