We are concerned that the power might go out resulting in dangerously high temps in the rv. Wondering if anyone has any advice on apps or other tools that monitor power and notify via cell phone of any outages. I've seen some that require a dedicated cell phone in the rv to send the outage message, but I'm not sure how that works with setting up network access. I don't want to pay for an extra line every month.RV Consumer GroupI'll be in the market soon for a 5th wheel for full timing. I'm researching as much information as I can get. To that end, what level of credibility does RV Consumer Group have in the RV community?Re: Experiences with Space Craft? Traveler II wrote: We have friends that have had them build a custom fiver. They are one great quality rig, and the company really stands behind their work, but they really are pricy. If you've got the coin, it's a great way to go. So...how would you "define pricey?"Re: Experiences with Space Craft? n7bsn wrote: Pyoung is correct, they make top notch rigs, but aim primarily at Carny and "special" (like "bunk" trailers). Personally I think the New Horizons aims more at the 'recreation' full-time crowd, while Spacecraft aims at the 'working' full-time crowd. Of course either will build you a great rig, designed the way you want it. Either also requires a substantial truck, ie maybe something more then even a '1-ton' So...New Horizons does custom too?Experiences with Space Craft?I just read this months Trailer Life article on Space Craft, the custom 5th wheel builder, and I am intrigued. We are planning to move from our TT to a 5th next year and go full time. I like the idea of working directly with the builder and not with a dealership. I like to hear if anyone has had any experience dealing with this company.US 33 Louisa, VA to I 81Greetings from Louisa VA! We've stopped overnight at the Small Country Campground in Louisa, en route to Edinburg VA. US Rt33 looks like a nice alternative to the interstates for the portion of the trip to I 81. But I know it crosses the Blue Ridge Mtns and some of those crossings (e.g. US 211) are crooked and steep! Does anyone have familiarity with this route?Re: Picked up the new 5er today.....wowNice!!!! Hope to be doing the same within the next year. Moving from TT to a ful timing fifth wheel.Experiences with Forest River Cedar Creek 38RDHi all! We currently tow a travel trailer, but plan to move to a fifth wheel next year and start full-timing. My wife saw the Forest River Cedar Creek 38RD and fell in love with it because of the sliding doors that can close off the rear den. I'd like to hear of owners' experiences with it, good and bad. And, is it suitable for full-timing? What size tow vehicle would be required?Re: RV clubs focused on Folk/Roots/Americana music and festivals banjo wrote: If you are traveling through central Texas, and like bluegrass music, Pearl, Texas is the place to stop. It happens on the first Saturday of every month except September, Then it is held on the second Saturday. See link below to website..... Looks like a great find! I've added it to my database. Thanks.Re: RV clubs focused on Folk/Roots/Americana music and festivals oldmattb wrote: wannabervin wrote: oldmattb wrote: An event you might consider if you construct your own tour - Tucson Folk Fest. Two days, over 100 performers, food vendors, etc. It is Free! Campsites surround Tucson. (Disclaimer - I am a TKMA board member) http://tkma.org/ Thanks for the tip! One question: How far afield does the festival stray from folk? Attended the Newport Folk Festival in 2014 and there was a lot of music that I wouldn't really call folk. That said, I still enjoyed the festival, and some of the non-folk artists as well! Though a subject of debate, the Fest stays pretty close to its folk roots. The performer bios for last year are still on the website, and most have links to hear them. Cool! Thanks. M.
