Do not be fooled by the hitch rating, which is 5000 pounds. That is more than the Sprinters can pull. Use the Winnebago View as an example. All of the models have a GCWR if 15250 pounds and a GWVR of 11030 pounds. The difference is 4220. Therefore, the most you can pull is 4220. Personally, I would not want to pull right at the max. My Jeep weighs 4400 pounds and therefore cannot be pulled with any of the View models. These numbers are about the same for all of the Sprinter chassis models I have seen.Re: Cargo trailers to tow behind an RVYou have a hitch rated for 5000 pounds but I have not seen a Sprinter that should be pulling 5000 pounds. To calculate how much you can pull: GCWR - GVWR = how much you should pull You will probably be close to your GVWR with the Sprinters.Re: What is your secret trick for cleaning your front cap?I am using two sturdy ladders with a telescoping aluminum plank between them. I used this at home. On the road, I use a log pole with bug remover on the pad.Re: Plugged in or outI connect my batteries to a Battery Minder when I am not using it. The one I have can maintain up to 8 batteries at one time. It has an automatic desulfator. It has settings for different kinds pf batteries. It has an ambient temp sensor to adjust the voltage based on temperature. I think it is a great way to extend the life of your batteries.Re: Looking for new motorhome…I would look at Super C's. The Dynamax Isata 5 30FW would be a good choice. You can get it in 4 wheel drive, which would give you the clearance for rougher roads.Re: Windshield sunscreenAnother enthusiastic recommendation for Magneshades. The magnet system is great. I have put them on in very windy conditions. Never need a ladder.Re: Jeep toad ?You will need to make sure the year and model you get is flat towable. I have a 4 door Rubicon that is about 5 years old and it is great. I love taking it on RV trips.Re: Which ~36' Class A can tow 15K StackerI would go with a Super C.Re: new camper needs help! Not much money = not a motorized RV. A Class C RV, especially an older one, is likely going to be a money pit. I small trailer would be my best advice. Just be sure your Expedition can pull it. You can look a tear drops and pop-ups.Re: RV WANT-A-BeUse Zoom. You can have them run a Zoom session on their cell phone. Then you can walk through the coach. You can have them show you anywhere you want to, with close ups in whatever area you want. Not perfect but pretty good.
