Looked at Ford trucks and bought a F250. The dealer said I could tow wth a F150 but the package I needed would cost a third more than the F250. It was not as much the tongue weight but the towing power. We went to a campground with a 25% grade and had no problem. F250 the better deal.Re: Awning Fabric RepairFlex seal is a rubberized coating. You can buy it at most hardware stores. Easy to apply.Re: Awning Fabric RepairHello Scraped my Awning while it was rolled up. If this is the case I coated it with black flex seal right up to the track on the trailer. It is flexible and works fine. I would not try to coat any unexposed area when it is rolled up.Re: Been gone for awhileHello I have a 2017 Coleman Lantern 192RD. They are right about the mattress We replaced ours pretty soon after buying it. I would consider a good 8" memory foam because it is less weight. We have about 40,000 miles on our camper and are in Alabama right now. One of the many mods I have done was to add electric to the water heater, you can buy a kit and it is very easy.Re: air conditionMy fan runs constantly but that is standard for the unit. I am figuring out a way to put a 110 volt plug in thermostat near the breaker panel. The one I am looking at has a remote temperature control, I do not know how good it is but here is the link to it. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071NG8MZK/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_2?smid=A3KNQ5UR6RZMP9&psc=1 THE THERMOSTAT I SENT THE LINK TO WILL NOT WORK. IT IS ONLY 15 AMP AND MOST CAMPER AC'S ARE 20 AMPRe: Towing without a equalizer hitchI have a 2017 F250 and tow a Coleman 192RD gross weight 5200. I was just using a sway bar but questioned a forum as to the advantages of a WD hitch and received many good answers. I have since purchased one and it made the camper feel like it is part of the truck. I had a situation on the way back from our last trip where someone decided they needed to get on the expressway immediately instead of merging, smoked the tires on both the truck and the camper but everything stayed in line in heavy traffic. I think the WD did part of the job.Re: Weight distributionThe hitch on my truck has a sticker that shows the same weight rating with or without weight distribution, 1500#. It is a 2 1/2" class 5 reciever.Re: Weight distributionThanks for all the input. You are right about the trucks ability and I do have a standard sway bar I always use. I am considering the weight distribution as suggested. We drove from Kentucky down to north Georgia through tropical storm Irma with no problem, but anything to make towing easier is always a plus.Re: Weight distributionTo answer myredracer I have a class five hitch factory installed. The truck says it has built in weight distribution and sway control. The added sway control is attached to a small ball on the hitch.Weight distributionI have a 2017 F250 with tow package and I am pulling a 2017 Coleman 192RD approx. weight 5500 pounds. I have a sway bar but no weight distribution. The truck pulls it with no problem. I have read that in some states sway control is required by law, does anyone know if that includes weight distribution?
