The temperature really seems to go up when we open the fridge for only a matter of seconds. I am at a loss as to what to do next. I'd quit worrying about it. It all sounds normal for any of the absorbtion fridges we have had. I would not worry unless the temp gets up into the high 40s to mid 50s and stays there. 42 is plenty cold to keep stuff from spoiling. I agree. The air volume is small and the exchange of cold air with room air is high when the door is opened. That will make the air temperature measure high. Put a glass of water in there and measure the temperature with an instant read thermometer. I bet you'll find the water stays cold while the air temperature might go up after opening the door.Re: Are the HP wars over? Turtle n Peeps wrote: So I haven't been keeping up on the HP wars for years. So I had a little time today and was checking out the 2022 HP wars of the big 3 and was shocked at what I saw. Ford not only was on top but dominated the other 2 by a county mile. I wasn't shocked that Ford was on top but by how far they were ahead. Ford PS diesel= 475HP (holy ****) Gm Duramax diesel= 445HP Ram Cummins diesel=400HP Now a 30HP lead is BIG but a 75HP lead is annihilating the competition! Cummins 2021 This says the HO Cummins is 420 HP and 1075 lb-ftRe: Propane alarms sounds at odd timesOurs used to do that too. Always in the middle of the night, even when plugged into shore power. Never did it in the driveway, plugged in at home, with the windows closed. Only did it when the windows were closed and running the AC with us asleep camping. Never with the windows open. Ours was a combo unit so I bought a standalone CO detector with readout. That never showed above 0. I blamed flatulence; of course it was the dog... :) -DrewRe: Truck - family of 5 and 65lb dogGreetings, We did what you want to do for years with a Ram 3500 quadcab. 3 kids in the back seat and it was small! They were fine. I put a cap on the back of the truck with sliding/opening windows equipped with pet grates. Our 60 lb dog rode back there. I would open the sliding window to the back from the truck and had a wireless thermometer back there to keep track of the temperature. Generally, it did not get too much above ambient while underway. I do live in the North East, so normally, it's much cooler than Texas though. -DrewRe: Fridge runs warm when temperature climbs into high 80sOP here. Thanks everyone for the good info. I will definitely be adding to the condenser side fans before looking into inside evaporator fans. I have not even had the chance to look into the upper outside compartment yet. I'll be doing that soon. One thing I just noticed is that the thermistor on the fins can be moved up/down just like on fridges that do not have temperature control settings. Is moving the thermistor up on the fin something I should try? Moving the thermistor is not mentioned in the Dometic manual. thanksFridge runs warm when temperature climbs into high 80sGreetings, We have a brand new 2021 Imagine 22MLE with a Dometic 2882 installed in a slide. The fridge has been running in the high 30s with the temperature control on "3". (This unit has temperature control 1-5, so "3" is in the middle." Just recently we had temperatures climb into the high 80s and we were camping in direct sun without shade. I heard the condenser side fan turn on, but the fridge temps climbed into the low 40s. The freezer runs around 0 to a few below. I'm wondering if an internal fan on the evaporator fins will help. I will be checking the condenser side fan and see if more airflow there is needed. Any experience with the internal fans helping or is increasing the condenser side airflow more important. Thanks, DrewRe: WD Hitch or not?BenK, Grit Dog is right that there is no label on the receiver. At least there is no label on the receiver of my 2018 Ram 3500. Also, Ram does not make mention of derating when the 2" adaptor is used, at least not in my manual. My manual states that the class V hitch is rated for 18000 gross / 1800 max tongue. The Ram 2018 trailer towing guide states that the Class V receiver has a max tongue weight of 1800 pounds. That's what I have to go on. I know how to set up a WD hitch for towing. I've been doing this for 20 years and my previous trailer was 35', 9750 lb gross, with 1400 lb tongue weight. I used a ProPride hitch to tow that. Thanks for all the help and suggestions from everyone. As I already stated, I will try the WD hitch I have that uses 1200 pound bars and see how it goes. However, for local trips I may also try without the spring bars. -DrewRe: On the road, battery and charging problemsCheck the fuse at the battery positive wire outside near the battery. Also, pull the wire off the positive terminal of the battery and check the voltage from that wire to ground. It's either the fuse or the converter is dead.Re: WD Hitch or not?OP here. Thanks for the input. As far as the hitch goes, I believe that Grit Dog is right and the Ram is 18000/1800 weight carrying. So the truck really doesn't "need" a WD hitch. I feel I'd like to use a WD hitch just for the peace of mind and possible stability improvement. The WD I currently have includes 1200 lb bars. I thought those might be too stiff for this trailer but I'll try them and see how it goes. I like the Andersen hitch. If I decide that the 1200 lb bars are too stiff, I may get an Andersen rather than replace the bars on my current hitch. Thanks!Re: WD Hitch or not? BurbMan wrote: The easy answer is....it depends. Assuming you don't pack the truck with heavy stuff, the tongue weight of the trailer by itself is probably not enough to make the truck sag. WD hitches also provide some level of sway control, so there's benefit there even if you don't need it to level the rig. If you're towing without a WD hitch now and not having any issues, then there's your answer. If you are having issues, then there's your other answer.... Thanks for the input. I have only towed it once: 3 hours home from the dealer. The trailer was completely empty as was the truck. With this trailer having a rear kitchen, I was concerned it might sway due to low tongue weight. On the trip home, I used a standard WD hitch with 1200 pound bars and no sway control. The tow was great with no sway at all.
