Good job!Re: Lost my travel companionI am so sorry for your loss and also for your family's and your daughter's grief. We recognize the problem all too well. We had 15 years of saving our 5 lb chi mix Poquita's life. At the park, an unleashed dog would run up to check out what kind of critter she was. It seems that she hit those dogs' radar the same as a rabbit or squirrel. Dogs still have that primitive urge, and sometimes it takes over for a second, even though they "know" the unfortunate little one. What a heart breaker. Just so sorry.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} MetalGator wrote: Just got all the windows boarded up. The only thing I am a little concerned about is I have a triple sliding glass door that goes out to my porch. I don't have any more wood so hopefully they will hold. well. \ Burch \ Burch, Bud (FL native) says can you tape those glass doors, top to bottom amd criss-cross left to right? Both sides would be good. I think I would use our old friend Duct Tape. Good luck to you!Re: Give me a tornado anyday over a hurricane SidecarFlip wrote: I'll take my snow and ocassional hailstorm. Nice and quiet up here in Michigan usually. If you cannot get out, be sure to put your legal name and SS number on your arms in waterproof ink so they can identify your body more easily. Saves time and money. Yep. quakes are easier, except for those darned aftershocks that slap you upside your head about the time you think everything is over. We worked to help Hurricane Katrina survivors and when we heard their stories and about their losses, we said "Bring on those DRY California shakers anytime!"Re: Grumpy Cat move over, Hurricane Harvey Cat wins!Aw, poor kitty! He looks madder than the proverbial wet hen! Probably even more so because some dummy is taking his photo! Cats do have their dignity to preserve!Re: Homeless Cat -- Now Spotacus' LegacyLet us know you and your posse survived Harvey when you can. Sounds like a nightmare!Re: Homeless Cat -- Now Spotacus' LegacyDo you know this song? Kids learn it in kindergarten. "When it's raining rain and people complain and folks don't give a shucks, Don't you yell, just say "Well, lovely weather for ducks!" p.s.The ducks must be ecstatic where you live!Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Oh, oh. Will you be in trouble if you ask her to read the owner's manual on the new unit? Even if you buy the "insurance" at the time of purchase, it will be null and void if she's puts "contraband" into it. A small garbage pail under the sink with a hefty bag liner is where all the no-go scraps go. Unless you have chickens. :)Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Richard, when you get the new disposal, be sure you and Sue read the owner's manual. There's a list of things you never ask that poor machine to do. Like chew up and swallow potato peels, celery scraps, etc. If it would help, make a list of no-goes on an index card and pin it near the sink. Bud used to be an appliance repairman and it was amazing what people try to put in a disposal.Re: Homeless Cat -- Now Spotacus' LegacyHere in SoCal, we were on water restrictions last year, too. Funny, after a few months the Water Co sent notices telling us to go ahead and do that extra load of wash, take a long shower, flush EVERY time! Oh, the luxury! Not that we suddenly had more available water, No, but the WC shareholders were mighty worried and the drop in monthly income. Back to our wasteful Cali ways!
