Do you have any idea what their liability insurance costs? and their Real Estate taxes? You can't pass it all on to the vendors or you will lose vendors and your selection and purchase costs will go up. Reminds me of when I volunteered with the Activity Director and we raised the price of hot dogs from .50 cents to .75 cents because we were losing money. We were nearly lynched and hung from the Live Oak tree for .25 cents. True Story That's why vendors pay rents.Re: Boycott - Arizona Market Place, Yuma, AZ Tyler0215 wrote: Would you feel differently if they charged $1 for parking? If you choose not to enter because of the admission fee, OK, don't go. Calling for a boycott is a little over the top. Why isn't that the issue isn't understood? Yep. I'd object to that parking fee too.Re: Boycott - Arizona Market Place, Yuma, AZ DownTheAvenue wrote: YUP! A $1 charge is way too much. I think maybe 25 cents is enough! How about you pay me and all the other snowbirds entrance fees all around the country!Re: Boycott - Arizona Market Place, Yuma, AZ toedtoes wrote: I get what the OP is frustrated about - he doesn't agree with the entrance fee and finds it "offensive". However, there are businesses that I do not agree with - I don't expect others to boycott them, I just simply choose to spend my money elsewhere. As for the $1 entrance fee, I doubt it's due to security, etc. More a way to lessen the number of non-serious buyers clogging up the place. I don't mind buying from the vendors. My problem is paying to get into buying from them. In Lancaster County, PA there is a HUGE market place, hundreds of vendors. 365 days a year. 20+ years have never paid an admission fee - they don't charge one. In Pennsylvania and NJ we have "Marts". Same type of vendors, stalls, etc., as Arizona Market Place - no admission fees. So not agreeing with a business is not the issue. There are some I don't shop at because I don't agree with how they're selling or what they are selling. I just don't go there.Re: Boycott - Arizona Market Place, Yuma, AZ gbopp wrote: Maybe by charging admission it eliminates people using the Market Place as a babysitting venue? Amazing, the answer now for many who are not happy is to just boycott instead of just making a decision to stay away. Security, etc. Don't you think they get those expenses from the vendors. Like I said its the principal. If its nothing to you, so be it.Boycott - Arizona Market Place, Yuma, AZThis past Saturday we went to the Arizona Market Place. They wanted $1 each to "get in". Its not the $1, its the fact they want to charge to buy! This only happens on the weekends. Thursdays and Fridays are free! Explanation - we have to pay security, clean-up, blah-blah-blah. So, vendors are cheated from weekend sales if people won't pay the $1 and customers are cheated if they can only shop on the weekend. So, I say - stay away. Al SmithGood Sam GPS & DockI am using the GS GPS and thought it had died. But, it seems okay. I've started using the trip planner and dock software to export to the gps. The trip that I've planned - highways, no tolls, etc - a custom route, is changed to whatever the gps feels is correct. I can choose no tolls in the planner AND in the gps, but the gps still does it's own thing. I contacted RM twice, and get the apparent canned response I apologize, but the routing of the trip is determined and calculated by the software itself, not by the user. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to modify the routes chosen to the destination points. . So what good is the trip planner or the gps if I waste my time on the trip planner? Anyone else have similar problem, or solution? Thanks, AlTrip Planner Feature RequestI don't know why this isn't a feature of Trip Planner, but it seems to be an glaring omission. It would be extremely helpful, if not necessary, to have the ability to: Plan by number of driving hours per day Plan by number of miles per day This is similar to Street Atlas, which I feel is needed to help keep RV'rs from being overtired when driving.
