I actually live at/on a lake, that's where the handle comes from. I'll look into the magical power thing though. Maybe it will protect me from marauding bears and ill tempered campers and I can abandon my trusty laser guided pepper spray gun!Re: A firearm for my BOkay, I'm done. I apparently failed and this has been pointed out with great clarity. I did read the other posts. Just missed that the OP was the same person taking cheap jabs at people who really were just trying to contribute. I'll make sure to wear my Kevlar next time I stick my head up here.Re: A firearm for my BWow' windcrasher, not really sure what your issue is. We are trying to discuss safety concerns here with an OP who has raised a legitamet question. I'm all sure we are all seeking to operate in a safe and legal way. In today's life it is litigement to consider potential threats both human and animal. The human side is so very sad. The animal is part of their normal existence, but we still need to be prepared. Why spend time judging instead of helping? Help the OP find a way to feel prepared without having to move beyond their comfort point.Re: A firearm for my BAmusing wincrasher, if you actually knew me, you'd know just how amusing.Re: A firearm for my BI have a double barrel PROJECTILE pepper spray GUN. It fires the pepper spray load at 395 mph, no joke. You can fire it TWICE before reload and you can start firing at 23 feet. Minimum safe distance is 5 feet. It has a laser guided site. This looks menacing all by itself. I got it after a half stoned street corner beggar crossed through traffic ( I was in the far lane) and approached me in my convertible (with the top down) and began swearing at me. Now it is always in my console when I'm driving or in my bag when I'm not in the car. Yes, I do own a firearm, and I am trained in using it. I like this less lethal option as well. But don't be fooled, a projectile delivering pepper spray ay 395mph is no toy gun. If fired too close you certainly could kill someone. Look it up JPX 450 Cobra.Re: Surprise! Your new Leisure Free Spirit SS fridge is 2-wayThanks NCWriter for the warm welcome . Switching to a new Diesel engine and all the entails means I have lots to learn! I will be here gleaning from the expertise of all those who have gone before me!Re: buying b out of stateWe live in Texas, ordered our LT FS SS through a dealer in Oregon, but plan to pick it up at the factory in Manitoba, Canada. They have lots of experience in all this. They will have all the necessary documents needed to bring the RV back into the US. Since it is a cash sale, we will not pay any taxes until we return to Texas. We will be given the VIN, etc. to supply our insurance agent before we go, and AFTER we have accepted the van we will simply call and have him put through the insurance policy. We will have a temp. plate like any new car purchase and will get our new plates through the Texas DMV where it will be registered. Our first shake down will begin from the factory in Canada and eventually wind up home in Texas. Shooting for the end of August.Re: Looking for Our Next RVA'hem... my new class B (being built now) DOES have a FULL DRY BATH/SEPARATE SHOWER. No longer just a Class A & C feature. It's a 2015 Free Spirit SS. Presently, 10 yrs class B Sportsmobile, tiny wet bath, prior to that 6 yrs class A, had one full dry master bath and one half galley bath. In today's world, having a decent private bath is SO important. Been into any of these quick stops lately? I don't need to go THAT bad!Re: Surprise! Your new Leisure Free Spirit SS fridge is 2-wayHi, I'm new to the forum but just had to chime in on this topic since my 2015 Leisure Travel Free Spirit SS is being built as we speak. The 3 way fridge was a big issue for us. Our present class B that we have owned for the last 10 years ( Sportsmobile, gas engine)has a 3way. We travel ALL kinds of ways. We want to be able to travel ALL kinds of ways. To us the 3 way was just peace of mind. On the new SS yes we have ordered the generator, yes we are adding the solar, but now we are on a diesel engine and that will change some things. Our gas engine ran the gen and the fridge if needed,) the fridge also ran off the house batteries or on shore). It also has an auto shut off to keep you from running out of gas but that never happened. With the diesel on the SS, the water heater, fridge, gen, run on propane. Except when the fridge is on house or shore elec. The propane tank is 8 gal. Considering you can only fill that 80%, it's good to have that trickle charge solar and of course if you're touring the house batteries will charge up as you travel. It's true that the major use of our travel van is touring. We may have the van sitting for hours while we explore. We NEVER had an issue with our three way failing to maintain proper temps to safely keep our food. This is why we were adamant that our new van would also have three way. The 2015 Free Spirit SS will have a Dometic 6cu. ft. 2 door, 3way fridge. It was initially listed as a Norcold 5.4 cu ft. 2 door, 3 way but that has changed. After comparing the fit and finish of the Sprinter outfitters, and after having owned one outfitted to OUR specs for 10 years, we settled on the FS SS as the new one FOR US. Every RV'er has different needs and desires on their top 10 list. I hope EVERYONE gets the RV of their dreams! It doesn't have to be the one I ultimately picked to be "the BEST" for them. It's nearly impossible in today's market to think of EVERTHING during your RV hunt and purchase. For us it was at first a process of eliminating the ones that DID NOT FIT. One of our top 10?- A SMALL 2 WAY FRIDGE!!! Hard to believe, I know. The other was a tiny tiny closet for a bath!!!!! Guy's you may not "understand" but , LADIES, WE DON'T STAND, RIGHT???? WOW The incredible dry bath on the FREE Spirit SS! Thank you knee room!!! Okay, off topic but you all get the idea. I don't think ANYBODY is right about what is best for everybody, but we can all gain from each other's experiences and input.
