Great features, Very reliable.Re: Winnebago View 24 Dakzuki wrote: We never have an issue with LP capacity with the small tank. The first thing we run out of is fresh water. I carry a collapsible water container and reload the tank from it using the winterizing system. See! That's exactly the sort of input I'm seeking! I have run short on water before, Trying to use gravity fill from a 7.5 gal blue jug using a long siphon tube is not fun. Sticking a hose in that jug and using the winterizing suction feature--genius!Re: Zion and Bryce NP camping quesstion Veebyes wrote: Almost invariably the dry CGs inside the parks have the best sites. Rubys outside of Bryce by a few miles is a typical FHU CG. Sites close together, not very roomy & not cheap. A whole new camping world is open to you with something the size of the View. You can easily fit in any site. Just leave the big ones to those of us who can't fit in the little ones please. Much appreciated. Appreciate the input--I believe small will serve me well. I will certainly respect the need of others in respect to the pull-through and longer back-in sites. I ALMOST have everything packed for the swap out tomorrow (after another sleepless nite :Z Gonna knock off for an hour and go enjoy the weekly jam session at Escapees North Ranch clubhouse.Re: Winnebago View 24 avan wrote: I'm confused. You went to a RV show and bought before you asked questions. So now you ask questions about your Class C and post in RV Parks, Campgrounds and Attractions section? Just sayin... I noticed that the post was misplaced, and asked the moderator to move it to Class C--obviously hasn't happened. I have considered the smaller Class C for a while, but the $125-130k price for the Mercedes consistently pushed me away. At $40k off list, it suddenly became much more attractive. I have been looking to get away from the 34' travel trailer for a while now. Small Class A, maybe, New bigger truck and toy hauler to carry Harley? Maybe. For the same dollar, I have a small, agile motorhome, 16mpg, get a small trailer for the Harley and voila! The perfect solution. And at about the same cost as a replacemnt truck and trailer. I'm not questioning my purchase--just trying to fine tune my camping experience to the new configuration, and asking input from my fellow campers who have been there and done that, rather than rely on a salesmans claims.Re: Winnebago View 24Snowman--that is encouraging. Being new to Class C, is was wondering if there is some sort of gauge/indicator. As long as there is a relatively accurate gauge, if I run out of propane, shame on me. This 24M comes equipped with a 36kw generator. Unfortunately, it runs on propane rather than diesel, so no propane savings there.Re: Winnebago View 24 jim1632 wrote: You have at least achieved the objective of reducing the towing package. I have a 24 foot class C that has been very good for driving and parking in the outskirts of lots. Nice size - my wife and I seem to get along OK inside during bad weather times. Normally we do everything we can outside as we started as tent campers. Propane should not be a problem. A 20-pound tank only holds about 5 gallons anyway so just more than double your experience with changing tanks. I have only a 9 gal. tank. Using the refrig full time, it will last at least a week. Since the refrig won't hold a week of food, you will probably have to drive somewhere before you need to worry about refill. I don't generally use heat continuously so that could reduce the refill time. However, again I think you will be driving somewhere before the crisis hits (assuming you are not planning to tow). I have often wished for the 20-pound tank as a backup and to avoid having to go to refill stations instead of trading tanks at a hardware store. But motorhomes have not yet advanced to that practical stage. Thank you for understanding what I meant, rather then what I said--2x 20 pound botbottles now.Winnebago View 24This topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 28769581Winnebago View 24Went to the "Free" RV show in Phoenix last Saturday. Ended up buying a new 2016 Winnebago View 24M on the Mercedes/Sprinter chassis. Prolly should have asked this question before signing on the bottom line, but Pros? Cons? It's just me on most trips. 12yo GS on some and his parents on a few (total 4). Capacities are obviously smaller than the Rockwood where I can go for several days before worrying about filling/dumping. One concern-single 13 gal onboard propane--I'm used to emptying one 30 pound, then having plenty of time on second 30 pound before refilling. Any input welcome.Re: Fellow rv.net forum member in the site next to usI have often wondered the same--is that another RV.Netter? I have on occaision mentioned my participation, but not regularly. I'm gonna have to ask more consistently. If anyone revives the sticker, I'm in!Zion and Bryce NP camping quesstionMr. Spontaneity here. This Friday, I will be swapping out my behemoth 34' Rockwood on a brand-new Winnebago View 24M in Phoenix. I still have a week before I have to head home. Plan (in my head at least) is to head to Zion and Bryce Canyon for about 2 days each. An early morning search shows Watchman Campground RV sites full for this weekend :(, but a few slots open on Monday. Since I have no idea of capabilities/capacities for the new View, I am leaning toward having electricity available. Any input regarding A) what to expect in the View and B) recommendations for camping in/near these two parks. Note--I will have my Suzuki GZ250 on a trailer for this leg of the trip. I'll have to determine riding conditions an a day-to-day basis, but would love to explore both parks (on-road only) on two wheels:C.
