Temp gun revealed fan clutch was not engaging until 250 degrees, replaced with NAPA part to yield maginal cooling. Removed the Aux fan and voila, perfect temps. Aux fan was blocking good air flow. Wally C. Flyfisherman128 wrote: I know this has been discussed to death but here goes. '92 Winnie 454 overheats. I did all the things suggested right up to replacing the radiator i.e. replaced the fan clutch, changed the thermostat, flushed the radiator, cleaned the radiator, replaced the aux fan. I am at that point. I am tired of watching my temp gauge running on the edge of red. I am about to replace the radiator. My question is..radiator shop rebuild or DIY replacement? I have the tools, skills and garage to do it myself. I only want to do this once, I want to do it right. I haven't brought it to a radiator shop to see what that will cost verses ordering up a new one. Re: No StartTry jumping the starter solenoid. If she spins over, then you have a ignition switch problem or an interlock of some kind that is malfunctioning. My bet would be on the ignition switch. Common problem. Wally C. I must be missing something ? Re: Tight screwsHeat will soften "Locktite", but you have to be careful not to melt the A/C cover (heat gun or hair dryer). Wally C. donandmax wrote: Who ever owned my rv before must have used epoxy or that red lock tite on the 4 screws that hold the a/c cover on because I used a big phillips head screw driver and cant budge them. I mean I have never in my life seen screws that were put on so tight. I'm not a weak guy but I swear I cant budge these things. I mean work up a sweat trying to turn these bas****s could they be rusted on there ? dont see any rust. and dont see anyplace to drip some rust dissolving solution or oil on them. Anybody got any ideas how I can get these devils loose ? I would like to install some quick start capasitors but cant even get the cover off to do so.. Re: flexible brake hosesIf and when you replace them, do not use generic hoses, trust me. Go to NAPA or the Dealer for the correct part. Generic hoses will bulge under pressure causing brake pedal to be spongy. Wally C. mscamping wrote: We have a 2003 diesel on the R4 Monaco chassis with hydraulic brakes.. It has around 58,000 + miles on it.. How long do the flexible brake hoses last that's between the steel lines and the calipers?? Thanks.. Mike Mathews Re: Water leak inside 91 Pace Arrow soaking carpet. You might try looking up. Roof Vent or A/C might be the problem. Feel the ceiling for wet spots, water will run inside the ceiling till it finds a low spot. Shower skylight might be letting water into the ceiling. Wally C. Then put caulking on the screw threads before tightening down. I just used the 5200 on a boat it is about $20 a tube and will bond, seal and fill holes at the same. It dries hard and will have to be cut to remove the bond. From reading your post it sounds like the screw holes are enlarged and that is where the water is leaking from. Once you remove it you may find rotted wood underneath that will have to be replaced first.
