Mine is 9 years old and on our return trip home today it shredded up from highway travel. I did notice recently the material was starting to break up. Any thoughts on replacing the material? Do I contact carefree for replacement material or another source? Thanks!!!Rear bed slide sagging, wall failureThe rear bed slide appears to be sagging and I can see damage to the rear wall that supports it. Has anyone with a rear bed slide experienced this? Now that our trailer is 9 years old should I go back to the manufacturer to inquire about why it failed and how to fix?Re: Rear driver tire smoking after stop and go trafficWow everyone thanks for all the input. We made it home about 45 minutes ago. Thinking the tire ( but now after reading all your responses, I think otherwise) was getting too hot because of the braking I set the brake controller higher and used the Manuel trailer brake switch to slow us down when moving at slow speeds. Probably not the smartest of moves but no more hot tire as we went along. In a couple days I'll work on getting the rear wheels up and start investigating. This is a 2 wheel drive f150. Im thinking a seal since it smelled like rubber burning. Ok here's a thought I just had. I've been spraying lubricant onto the squeaky leaf springs. I wonder if since the rims were hot that might have been the source. Thanks again for your responses. This is a great forum!!!! Happy travelingRe: Rear driver tire smoking after stop and go trafficYep 2003 f 150Rear driver tire smoking after stop and go trafficHello everyone, So I'm sitting behind a church in the shade waiting for my wheel to cool down so I thought I'd take a few minutes and ask for your help. I95 is stop and go ( pulling trailer with the f150) lots of stop. I smell rubber burning so we pull over and see the rear driver tire smoking, actually can't see the source but assume it's the very hot rim heating the tire causing the smoking. No braking issues. No pulling left or right. The car rolls forward when I release the brake pedal so I don't think its a stuck caliper. Any ideas any one?.... While I sit and wait. Oh and it's 95 plus outside today.
